Hi there! The population I typically see are individuals who would like to overcome disturbing events in their life that may be causing them depression, anxiety or low self-esteem to name a few. To treat this, I use a technique called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR uses bilateral stimulation via tapping chest/arms/knees or eye movements while processing past disturbing events. I make sure to follow your pace and that you feel safe enough to take this step. If you do not wish to do EMDR, I can offer you a safe space to talk about any issues you may have. I have been treating clients since 2014. My private practice is established in Oxnard, CA and I serve clients through tele-health and in-office. Safety allows for exploration. Come on, let's explore together. I offer a free 15 min. phone consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you. Hablo Español.

Seeking therapy is a brave step. Whether you are presently in crisis or simply feeling a bit stuck in life, I honor the effort and courage that it took you to get here. Even a cursory, online search for a therapist indicates a commitment to your mental health. It also suggests that—regardless of how you might feel in this moment—some small (or large) part of you believes in the possibility of a more peaceful, fulfilling life. As a therapist, I am here to not only affirm and amplify that belief, but more importantly, to help you discover and define its reality for yourself. I work with individuals, couples and complex relational structures utilizing a collaborative, person-centered approach. I have experience working with folks of many ages, backgrounds, and genders, and I am especially passionate about working with people who are looking to explore issues around sexuality. I am currently accepting new therapy clients at this time via telehealth. I use a secure web based platform that allows us to communicate with video, so if you’d like to reach out please do! I look forward to connecting with you!

My style is nurturing, dynamic and radically present. I adapt my approach based on what you might need drawing from Relational, Mindfulness and Somatic based methods and incorporating EMDR when indicated. My work focuses on supporting people in their relationships to feel empowered and connected, being curious of what gets in the way of that connection. People-pleaser, perfectionist, anxious, passive. If any of the above phrases or words describe you, guess what? You're reading the right profile. If you're ready to break-out of unhelpful patterns; if you're motivated to start using your voice; even if you're ready to start therapy to see where it takes you - I can be the therapist to help move you in a different direction. If you're looking for someone who is very structured, that's not me. I offer no-frills sessions and am not afraid to (gently, mind you) challenge or question you. I operate collaboratively and conversationally. Anxiety, people-pleasing, all those things I named above are my specialties. If you're a first timer to therapy - I can also help with that! Look, I get it - it's hard to pick someone whom to tell your innermost thoughts. I understand the feeling of uncertainty and the frustration of finding the "right" therapist. If you're willing to reach out to see if we're a good fit, let's talk!

We believe that all of us are looking for a sense of fulfillment and well-being in our lives. We experience this well-being as a sense of ease, unrestricted flow of life energy. However, when negative events happen and we perceive ourselves as broken, or not safe, we constrict the flow of well-being, resulting in feelings of pain, fear, anger, grief... The Process Model of therapy helps us to identify our constrictions and release them, allowing our life energy to flow freely again, bringing the sense of relief and re-connection to self, others, and the world around us. Coming into a counseling session is much like going on a tour to explore yourself: how you got where you are today, what you can do to set yourself free, what you can do to change your life. Our counselors are much like guides employed to walk with you on this journey of self-discovery; they invite you to look deeper beyond the story, stay in the present moment and keep the focus on yourself. They are trained to respect, trust, and follow your process into and through your unresolved issues, without judgment or agenda. We are a non-profit and charitable organization incorporated in the state of California since 1982, with a mission to train pre-licenced professionals in the skill and art of psychotherapy. We have many clinicians available to work around your schedule and price range. We are committed to offer therapy to people of all means and backgrounds, and welcome diversity in all its forms.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, body image issues, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder & college adjustment/ academic stress. My therapeutic approach is practical and flexible, grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and exposure therapy. I find that people often assume that they “should” know how to approach therapy. In reality, the process may not be quite so simple and may feel confusing. Thus, I frequently have conversations with my clients about how to use sessions and ongoing dialogues about our work together.
