I provide therapy in English and Spanish. I received my Master's Degree from JFK University. I have been in the Mental Health field for 18 years. In my first 10 years I worked with children, teens, young adults, and families. Since then I have been working with adults. My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I utilize evidence based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, problem solving therapy, behavioral activation, and EMDR. I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Finding solace and stillness in the fast-paced post-covid world has been difficult for many of us. Finding time to reflect on where you are in your life and where you want to be can be difficult to find time for. I am here to listen and help you find intentional space. My areas of practice focus on adults experiencing grief, loss, relationship issues, identity issues, academic stress, or intimate partner violence. I am equipped to help unpack how you experience the weight of social injustice, systemic racism or intergenerational trauma. My practice includes a lens of relational psychotherapy and research-informed interventions for people who have Depression, Anxiety, or PTSD. I have postgraduate training in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Densistization (EMDR) and Safe & Sound Protocol which are designed to help people process stressful Life experiences in a different way than just talk therapy. Throughout each session, I incorporate best practices from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy as a means to support you in maximizing your fullest potential. I am committed to your healing process, whatever that may look like and I believe that stepping into your authenticity will foster sustainable growth.

Do you feel controlled by anxiety or OCD? Feeling like you have to constantly seek reassurance or perform rituals to feel better? These disorders operate on what is called a Vicious Cycle: 1) encounter trigger/obsessive thought 2) experience distress 3) engage in compulsions or safety behavior/s, which leads to 4) relief. The frustrating part about this cycle is that the relief is short-lived. Before you know it, the obsessive fear and compulsions are back, taking up more time and mental resources to cope. The good news is that together, we can end the cycle and find long-term relief. Treating OCD and Anxiety disorders require specialized training and experience. I have trained under internationally recognized psychologists, Dr. Jenny Yip and Dr. Eda Gorbis. I have worked with clients at all levels of care, including IOP, PHP, and outpatient. Currently, I provide individual and family outpatient treatment for those aged 10+, in person and via telehealth. I know therapy can be a challenging endeavor, that's why I aim to cultivate a warm and collaborative therapeutic environment, where we can defeat your OCD and Anxiety together! Feel free to reach out for a complimentary 30-minute consultation.

There are times where direct, actionable steps are appropriate, and there are times when what you really need is to sit and process your feelings. If you’re feeling overwhelmed — by anxiety, school, grief, trauma, or just trying to hold it together — I want you to know you don’t have to navigate it all alone. Whether you’re a teen, a parent, or someone trying to support a loved one, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care. I’m a social worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. My path has taken me through schools, nonprofit organizations, and community-based programs, where I’ve worked with people facing a wide range of challenges. Most recently, I’ve been providing therapy and social-emotional support to high school students with IEPs—helping them work through anxiety, school refusal, complex trauma, and the everyday pressures of growing up. I have also worked with their parents to plan and implement optimal care. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Northridge in 2017. During that time, I had the opportunity to develop an animal-assisted therapy program at a juvenile detention center, which really deepened my belief in creative, holistic approaches to healing. My background also includes working closely with survivors of domestic violence and supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. My approach is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and client-centered. I’ll meet you exactly where you are. I believe healing happens in safe, supportive relationships, and I strive to create that kind of space in our work together. Whether you’re looking for practical tools, emotional support, or simply someone who gets it, I’m here to help you move toward healing and lasting growth. Please reach out if you would like to schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation to see if I am the right fit for what you need.

College can feel overwhelming — even when you “look” like you’re handling it. I work with students who struggle with anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, relationship stress, academic pressure, and big identity questions. You might find yourself comparing, replaying conversations at night, or feeling disconnected from who you used to be. I also specialize in perinatal mental health and support young women navigating fertility stress, pregnancy, postpartum changes, and major life transitions. In therapy, you don’t have to have it all figured out. We’ll slow things down, understand your patterns, and help you feel more grounded and confident in yourself. I offer virtual therapy for students across California.
Hi, I’m Samantha (she/her). I’m a mixed-race, queer therapist providing down-to-earth, individual, virtual therapy to teens & young adults. I support young people as they process trauma, move through life’s challenges, & shape lives that feel authentic & joyful to themselves. These years can be overwhelming, complex, & full of questions around identity, relationships, & how to feel safe in your own skin. I am here to be an ally through it all. I am particularly passionate about working with immigrants, queer, trans, & gender-expansive communities, & folks facing the impacts of trauma & systemic violence. My style is warm, thoughtful, and nonpathologizing – I believe healing occurs within a larger social context. If you think we'd be a good fit, email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call! I look forward to connecting with you. Currently practicing under supervision of Rayne Banneck, LMFT #124607 through Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health in California.
