Welcome To Our Group Practice A message from the Founder and Clinical Director: I want you to know how excited I am to meet you. I light up when I think about ways I can support you and be a part of ushering human beings into a new world. I feel hopeful when I see the work of Brene Brown, HeatherAsh Amara, Tara Brach and many others like them who are doing work on a large scale to help us move out of the old paradigm of living from the head- comparison, acquisition, power at all costs, being the smartest person in the room, and fierce independence. We are evolving into heart-centered living- which is practicing empathy, compassion, acceptance, cooperation, openness, interdependence and curiosity. This is how I want to live, do you? I believe it is possible and heart-centered living starts with healing past wounds and freeing up our energy to take responsibility for our lives. I was a kid who had a lot of energy. I loved doing cartwheels in the grass, voraciously reading every single one of the books in the Babysitters Club series and climbing the weeping willow trees that grew near my house. I've always loved exploring, learning, and moving my body. Now, I use that energy to climb rock walls, hike mountains, and enthusiastically lead therapists in our thriving private practice while facilitating a kick-ass women's empowerment program. I get energized when I feel into how much healing we get to do together. I have discovered my gifts of curiosity, intuition, and a natural tendency to care about and hold compassionate space for others. I channel this into my work with individual clients, workshops that I facilitate, and the mentorship and training that I offer to the therapists who work with me at Insight. I want you to feel excitement about your life and journey towards bringing your gifts forth. We can help you discover who you are under the layers of self-protection, survival mode, and numbing the overwhelm. The first steps toward this is saying yes to yourself, beginning your healing, and trusting the process. Our group practice offers so many avenues for growth. We have specialties in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, group work and workshops, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Existential Therapy, and more. Explore our website to see what speaks to you and reach out to our Client Care Coordinator. She can determine who and what will be the best fit for your goals. If you feel a YES rising in you, if you want to live more from your HEART and SOUL- then give us a call and schedule your first appointment or join our next workshop. You are worth it. You matter. Take the leap! With Love, Respect, and Hope, Bethany

College and early adulthood can be a mix of excitement, stress, and uncertainty. You’re making big choices about your future, managing relationships, navigating independence, and trying to stay mentally clear and emotionally balanced. Therapy can help you make sense of all of it—and give you the tools to move forward with clarity and confidence. I’m a licensed therapist in Colorado with over 30 years of experience working with young adults. I help people who feel overwhelmed, stressed, stuck, or unsure of who they are or where they’re headed. I also support clients in breaking free from unhealthy or addictive patterns—whether that’s substances, social media, gaming, or other habits that have started to take over. My approach is real, down-to-earth, and supportive. I’ll help you understand what’s going on emotionally, mentally, physically, and in your relationships—and together we’ll work on practical strategies for change. Some sessions will be about insight and reflection, others will focus on action and new tools. You set the pace, and I help you get where you want to go. If you’re in this stage of life and want support that meets you where you are, I’d be honored to work with you.

I often work with students who are dealing with anxiety, school stress, family conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by expectations. You might feel like you’re trying to keep everything together while struggling on the inside. In therapy, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and develop skills that help you feel more grounded in yourself and supported in life. I also encourage parent coaching sessions to help caregivers learn tools to better support their child’s emotional growth.

I work with individuals and couples (including other relationship styles such as ethical non-monogamy and polyamory) who are wanting to engage in deep exploration of their current and past concerns and understand their impact. This understanding will assist you in feeling empowered to live the life that you want to live.

Finding Acceptance, Moving Towards Change Book a Free Consultation Are you struggling with aligning your life activities with your values and goals? Do you find yourself feeling stuck in unfulfilling relationships? It’s vital to acknowledge and face your current situation and the feelings you have about it in order to make change happen, and psychotherapy provides space for this. We'll begin by talking about your goals for therapy, and we'll collaborate on a plan for our work together. You can expect to develop more perspective and self-compassion, find a new capacity to navigate difficult feelings, and uncover and work towards freedom from habitual thought patterns. I am curious by nature, and I’d love to help you explore your particular individuality and its connection with your life history and desires. Through our work together, you’ll gain new insight and appreciation for who you are as you grow in expressing previously unspoken parts of yourself. I’ll ask a lot of questions in our conversations, but also hold space for you to discover your own thoughts and speak them. It can be difficult to begin a journey of self-discovery. But with the right support, the work finds its rhythm, and improvements can come surprisingly quickly. Please contact me for a free telephone consultation, and we can discuss where we might start our work together.

I'm here to support you in finding balance as you navigate life's inevitable ups and downs. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with the transition to college or the many changes that arise during the college experience. I have experience working with individuals who have suffered from life-changing events and are seeking to rediscover themselves in the aftermath. I also have extensive experience assisting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity and self-esteem issues, and healing from cancer or other physical illness. Asking for help can feel like failure. But it’s actually the smartest thing you can do. You’re at a rigorous university. You’re surrounded by smart, accomplished people. Everyone seems to have it together: classes, social life, and future plans despite all the pressure. Except you’re in your room at 2 AM and your anxiety is spiraling. Or you’re making a decision that feels impossibly huge and you have no idea which way to turn. Or you’re just… exhausted. The problem isn’t that you’re not capable. The problem is you’re trying to figure out who you actually are while everyone expects you to have it all figured out. That’s where I come in. I’m Debbie Miller, a therapist who gets college students. I spent 25 years in Ann Arbor and worked extensively with University of Michigan students. I know the academic pressure, the social dynamics, the Greek life culture, the competitive environment. I still work with Michigan students via telehealth, and I genuinely understand what it’s like to be where you are. I work with students who feel overwhelmed by pressure, confused about their future, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating major transitions. Students who know something needs to shift but aren’t sure how. Here’s the approach: We work together to help you become an expert on yourself. We’re a team. My job isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to ask the right questions so you hear your own voice clearly. To challenge you on beliefs that hold you back. To help you figure out what actually matters to you (not what you think should matter). This isn’t always comfortable, but discomfort is usually a sign that real growth is happening. Your pace, your direction. That’s the deal. Ready to talk? Call or email me to schedule your free consultation.

We all face challenges, stressors, traumas, losses, and changes in life. Especially as women. Especially now. We are supposed to have it all, do it all, be it all. For everyone. All the time. Like yesterday. At Discover Peace Within, we recognize that as a human being, you have access to a reservoir of strength, resiliency, and peace within you. Yet, right now, you feel so far away from that sense of peace. Your childhood trauma keeps repeating itself in your relationships. Your low self-esteem makes you say “yes” when you mean “no.” You’re constantly worried if you belong. You lay awake at night wondering if you said the right thing? Did the right thing? You’re fearful of being “too much” while also feeling “not enough.” Life is happening so fast - you feel that you can’t keep up. You want to feel closer to yourself. Your true self. Not the self that you present to the world. Or to your boss and co-workers. Or even friends or family. You know what living in your true self feels like. You’ve had glimpses of it before. When your body-mind-spirit all clicked into place. You know she’s still there. She’s underneath all of the trauma from childhood. Or the messages from others about what you SHOULD be. What society makes you believe you HAVE to do. You’re blocked from making choices that YOU want to make. You’re held back from going for that job, putting yourself out there with friends, or resting when you need to. You struggle seeing the good in you. And yet, there is a voice within you, reminding you of your true self. Therapy can be a helpful place to get back to you. To get back to your true self. Working with a therapist at Discover Peace Within can offer you a sacred space - a time dedicated solely to you and your needs. A time for you to heal. Take a chance on you to discover peace within and book an appointment now.
