As a queer, agnostic person looking to challenge diet culture/anti-fatness, racial discrimination, anti-queer and other justice issues, you'll see this perspective play out in our work together. I find working with those both with similar and different identities to be fulfilling and approach each person with curiosity and empowerment. I have a strong interest in and passion for helping individuals explore their intersecting identities and roles and the ways in which they move through and exist in the systems in place in the community and in the world. I orient my work with focusing on individual, cultural, and trauma-informed perspectives, with a focus on social justice and a system-oriented perspective. I combine various empirically validated approaches based on need, concerns, and preference, from foundational humanistic and multicultural-feminist frameworks to interpersonal, internal family systems, and/or third-wave approaches (ACT, DBT, or CBT). I specialize in working with the young adult and/or college student population, but enjoy all ages! I enjoy utilizing humor, creative approaches to therapy, and aim to balance support and challenge for personal growth. Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Muñoz, and I am dedicated to fostering a therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen, valued, and supported. I believe that healing happens within relationships built on trust, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. My approach is deeply rooted in social justice, trauma-informed care, and inclusivity, honoring all aspects of identity, including race, culture, gender, sexuality, and spiritual background. I specialize in working with college students and adults in individual therapy focused on concerns surrounding trauma, religious and spiritual concerns, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, suicidal ideation, and identity exploration. My training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) allows me to help clients process painful experiences in a way that fosters resilience and healing. Whether you are working through past trauma, questioning aspects of your faith or belief system, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I am committed to providing a nonjudgmental, empowering space for exploration and growth. I also work with couples in therapy, addressing concerns related to communication, trust, intimacy, conflict resolution, emotional disconnection, infidelity, relationship anxiety, and identity dynamics. My practice integrates bodywork with talk therapy. After fifteen years as a Structural Integration practitioner, I trained at Naropa in somatic psychotherapy — so sessions can include hands-on work, movement, breath, and conversation, depending on what's needed. The people I work best with tend to be thoughtful and somewhat introspective. They often sense that talking alone hasn't moved things — that something is held in the body, in patterns of tension, posture, or reactivity. Some arrive with chronic physical complaints alongside emotional ones. Others come stuck in relationships, identity questions, or grief that won't shift. You don't need any background in this work to start. We begin with what you're actually noticing — in your body, your mood, your day — and follow it from there.

We are happy that you are here, and we hope that we will get to walk alongside you for this portion of your life! While we cannot change the past, or sometimes the external stressors of our present lives, we can impact our trajectory going forward. And here at KCAPS, we believe in supporting people to do just that. Together we may move between past, present, and future… healing, recovering, processing, liberating, exploring, problem-solving, building, empowering, etc depending on your goals and your needs. With a strengths-based, culturally-centered, trauma-informed, collaborative approach, KCAPS staff flexibly utilize various treatment modalities that are evidence-based. We will work together, incorporating both your expertise and ours to move toward your identified treatment goals. Parts of life can be hard and we all could use a little help sometimes. It can take a lot of strength and courage to lean into that humanness, and allow for others to show up for us in that space of vulnerability. We would be honored to meet you there… contact us now!

As a multicultural woman, I not only have personal experience with historical trauma, intergenerational trauma, and women's issues, but I also specialize in grief and loss, sexual assault/violence, suicidality, relationship issues, transitional difficulties, depression, anxiety, identity formation, and more. With experience serving ages 12-adult, I aim to create a safe space to explore an array of different obstacles within the human experience to leave my clients feeling empowered and heard. With a deep personal and professional understanding of social work, social justice, social change, and historical trauma, I align myself in support of the acknowledgement and healing of all Indigenous Peoples, the Black Lives Matter Movement and Black / African American folks as well as many multicultural minoritized individuals and communities experiencing racialized trauma and injustice, as well as the LGBTQIA+ communities continuing to fight every day for equity across systems. I have a well-rounded perspective on spirituality, and challenge myself to do continued allyship work within myself and my practice to show up for the intersections of my clients with a mindfulness around impact, action, and honoring the innate dignity of the whole person.

(Current availability for new clients: In-Person sessions on Tuesdays at 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 2pm; and Virtual sessions on Fridays at 11am, 1pm, and 2pm). Wonton (Professionally trained Therapy Dog) & I are so excited you've found us! Are you curious about Animal-Assisted Therapy & connecting with an enthusiastic, loving, compassionate, 8-year-old, yellow lab? It can feel really isolating to struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and/or addiction. On top of that, it can be challenging to connect with people who understand that experience without judgement & can offer appropriate support. Therapy Dogs offer a very unique type of support for mental health: nervous system regulation, somatic processing, grounding skills, relationship skills, general improvements in mood, etc. Wonton & I have been a partnered therapy team since 2018 & we offer a warm, non-judgmental approach to facilitate the challenging work of therapy. We utilize a combination of therapeutic modalities such as Animal-Assisted Therapy, along with CBT, DBT, ACT, Trauma-Focused, & Solution-Focused specialties to support young adults/adults. After my family experienced something traumatic and we went through our own grief and healing journey (ongoing), this experience helped me to relate to a broader range of folks who were also hurting. I became a mental health professional because I love connecting with people and want to help them navigate unique and challenging circumstances. I am passionate about partnering with people who are choosing change and healing in order to discover more about themselves, grow, improve their quality of life and relationships with others. Prior to working in the mental health field, I worked as an Administrative Personnel at a University in Colorado for over 10 years and supported undergraduate and graduate students which allowed me opportunities to witness the unique challenges that students experience. If you are struggling with the stress of meeting new expectations, adjusting to college environments, managing your course load along with other adult responsibilities, trying to find your identity as a young adult, struggling in your relationships, having homesickness, and/or managing an illness(es), then you are not alone in this experience. If you are ready to choose change & healing in order to discover more about yourself, grow, & improve your quality of life & relationships with others, then Wonton & I would love an opportunity to connect & partner with you!

Hi there, my name is Dylan Warnari (he/him) I am looking to work with young adults as I find it can be an equally challenging and exciting time for people. There's a lot to consider from school motivation, setting oneself up for a career, and navigating peers/teachers and the college system broadly. Additionally, it can be a time where you're exploring new identities, meeting new people, navigating roommate situations, finding important relationships, and sometimes managing the ups and downs of newfound freedom from parental overhead. My hope is to be a support in helping you explore your options and find those that most align with your values and goals. I have a pretty extensive background in education (can see my website if interested) that has shaped my view that for some, dropping out, and finding a way to do that despite outside pressures, can also be valuable and I can support in that transition as well. Of course, I am open to discussing concerns beyond what's mentioned here including depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, trauma, coping skills, and identity. I also bring a focus on emotional self- and co-regulation to session. Some additional detail highlights (1) My availability is mostly between 9:30-3:30 Mon - Fri, but if you have additional preferences I may be available, (2) I offer and prefer in-person off I225 and Iliff, but may be open to virtual, (3) 18+ and willing to work with all genders (4) I accept insurance (Kaiser, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare) and also private pay at $150 a session with sliding scale pricing available.

Welcome — you don’t have to figure this out alone. College can be exciting and overwhelming. Between classes, exams, relationships, finances, and figuring out who you’re becoming, it’s easy to feel anxious, stressed, or burned out. If your mind feels like it won’t slow down, your body feels constantly tense, or you’re putting pressure on yourself to “have it all together,” you’re not broken—you’re human. I work with college students who want relief from anxiety and stress, and who are ready to build coping skills that actually fit real life. Therapy with me is down-to-earth, supportive, and practical. We’ll focus on helping you understand what’s happening inside you, calm your nervous system, and develop tools so you can feel more confident, grounded, and like yourself again. You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just tired of carrying everything on your own, this can be a space to pause, breathe, and get support—without judgment.
