I support young adults navigating the stress and pressure that comes with college life. If you’re dealing with anxiety, academic burnout, transitions, identity shifts, relationship changes, or adjusting to living on your own, you’re not alone. My approach is straightforward and supportive, offering tools to help you manage your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and feel more steady and capable during this phase of life.
Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.

I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. I am multi-lingual licensed psychotherapist in private practice specializing in trauma and the emotional and somatic impact of violence on the individual and communities - whether it’s racially or gender-charged violence or the destruction of our planet - grief, anxiety, trauma, shame, feelings of despair and anger are all part of it. As faculty of the International Center for Mental Health & Human Rights, I have facilitated contemplative based trauma and resiliency trainings locally and internationally to communities on the frontlines. In my work with you, I pay attention to how constructs such as power, race, gender, socio-economics, and sociopolitical environments impact the individual, family, and community identity, well-being, and health. Traumatic experiences happen within a social context and are shaped by social and climate-related conditions. Tailoring my approach according to your concerns, challenges, and unique socio-cultural background feels essential in our work together. I have been working with adults and adolescents in the mental health and education field since 2005. I graduated from the California Institute for Integral Studies with a Master’s Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology and hold a Social Work degree from Hochschule Niederrhein in Germany. I offer individual and group psychotherapy in my office in Boulder, CO. As a psychotherapist, I take an integrative approach that includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, neuroscience, climate-awareness, social justice, and contemplative-based trauma and resiliency training. My work predominantly focuses on survivors of traumatic experiences as well as challenges related to shame, self-esteem, racial and multicultural identities, and climate distress. As a climate-aware psychotherapist, certified in climate psychology and member of the North America Climate Psychology Alliance, I am passionate about understanding the immediate mental health impacts of climate related disasters and long term stressors of living with the reality of climate change over time. I believe that learning emotional resiliency skills with ways of motivating effective action and creating intentional moments of reconnection with the earth and all her inhabitants, feel essential to the wellbeing of our world. I speak English, Spanish and German fluently.
