Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Hi my name is Lucinda and I work with traditional, non-traditional, and first-generation students who are struggling with adjusting to college life, anxiety, significant life transitions, and grief/loss. Becoming a therapist is my second career. I graduated from MSU Denver with my Masters of Social Work and I'm a Clinical Social Work Candidate working towards full licensure as an LCSW. My first career was working in higher education for 14 years, mostly as an Academic Advisor. I understand how difficult it can be to attend college right out of high school or going back after a long break. It can be stressful. I want to help you navigate the uncertainties that life will throw your way while in school, while at the same time being able to be successful in achieving your academic and life goals. Let's connect and see how I can help you overcome anything that may be holding you back from the life you deserve.

Many different disorders can be improved or be eliminated by using neurofeedback. First a QEEG is collected. This involves placing a cap on the client’s head and collecting brain wave information from 19 specific sites. This information is processed, and a brain map is produced. The therapist then evaluates the data, completes a comprehensive health history, and then based on both symptoms and goals, develops an individualized protocol of successive neurotherapy sessions. Treatment is noninvasive, is not painful, but does require a commitment. Just as you must work out your body consistently to see results, neurofeedback sessions must be completed two to three times a week to be beneficial. The neurofeedback treatments involve placing sensors on the scalp. The sensors pick up brainwave signals which are first amplified and then filtered through software that works with a computer to generate real time feedback. The brain activity is either increased or decreased in the identified areas until the optimal balance is achieved The typical treatment plan will vary from individual to individual, but most common disorders can be resolved in about 40 sessions.
If you’re fighting anxiety, ADHD or trauma, I want to help you. You deserve support (and joy!), and you don’t have to go through this alone. Constant negative thoughts and relationship patterns can trick us into that nothing has ever helped and nothing will. Together, we can pinpoint where you want to grow, and what’s been getting in your way. If you’re sick of feeling constantly exhausted, distracted, drained, numb, empty, restless, or irritable, therapy can help. I am an expert in helping teens and adults tackle seasons of life that are especially tough. I support people struggling with racing thoughts, constant worry, freezing or lashing out, feeling edgy, compulsive rituals, or the need for “just right.” You already do so much for everyone—let me help you. Starting therapy can feel terrifying. Finding the right therapist is essential! But research proves even severe anxiety or trauma can improve with therapy. With effective support and your willingness to try, change will happen. Call or email TODAY - I offer in-person and virtual sessions!

I've been practicing for 12+ years and in recent years have realized that I love working with individual women 15+yo, so I began catering my practice ONLY to this population! Please check out my website - I hope it will answer many of your questions, but please reach out to me by phone or email with any additional questions. Also, though you can book an appointment directly through my website and I try to keep those options updated, please contact me if you'd like to make an appointment but none of the times listed work for you. I support teen girls, young women, and mothers who are carrying heavy feelings about self-esteem, body image and eating struggles. I also specialize in working with women on their prenatal journey; navigating the big transitions of pregnancy and postpartum. So often, these seasons of life bring up emotions we’re told we shouldn’t have—confusion, doubt, even resentment—right alongside love and joy. My role is to create a space where nothing has to be hidden, and where your whole experience is welcome. Together, we’ll move at your pace, weaving in conversation and body-based practices like mindfulness, somatic therapy, Gestalt, breathwork, and nature-based work—while also drawing from CBT, DBT and ACT when structure or skills are needed. My hope is that you leave sessions with a stronger sense of steadiness and self-trust, and a gentler perspective on your life and journey—able to meet yourself with more ease, acceptance, and confidence in where you are and where you’re headed.

Hi! If you're carrying a story that feels too heavy, too painful, or perhaps too fragmented to tell, I offer a supportive space to help you reclaim the parts of your story that have been buried, silenced, or distorted by trauma. Together, we will work to gently untangle your story, reconnect with your inner strength, and move toward lasting relief and empowerment. You deserve to feel safe, grounded, and whole. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and respectful of your pace. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about honoring the parts of you that adapted to survive and creating space for something new. Sometimes the first step in healing is telling your story. As a fellow artistic, compassionate human, I am here to hear your story and assist you in continuing along your journey in this life.
