Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Hi! I’m Jenna, the therapist behind Gentle Minds Therapy (aka a professional over-thinker turned listener). I specialize in working with teens and young adults, because truly, those are some of the most confusing and challenging, yet exciting years of life. My approach is to keep things "human". I value making sure every session is a no-judgment zone and strive to make sure you feel understood and cared for. Even if what you need switches up week after week, we will tailor each session to what feels helpful to you!

I help stressed out and anxious people of any gender to heal trauma, make work suck less, and get good at relationships. I’m an Denver LGBT therapist providing EMDR therapy with a decade of experience. I’m terrible at pop culture and I love puns. My goal for my clients is to have a sustainable life where you can thrive. I want you to feel like you can navigate what life throws at you, even if it’s hard. I’m deeply invested in finding out what works for you (vs. anyone else). I’m less likely to promote something as “healthy” in therapy and more likely to ask you how it’s working for you. I won’t look at you sideways when you drop your partner’s pronouns or ask me to use a new name for you. We’ll curse, cry, and probably (hopefully) laugh. We’ll be human together.
I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Perinatal Mental Health Clinican (PMH-C) with nearly two decades of experience working with adults, children and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum anxiety/depression, ADHD, disruptive behavior and attachment challenges. I started my career at Indiana University, earning a Bachelors in Social Work, and later a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the Catholic University of America. I utilize a variety of clinical interventions including play, art, movement, and talk therapy. I take a holistic view when working with any individual or family, teaching and emphasizing the intersection between mind, body, society, resources, and relationships. I am trained in various therapeutic modalities including: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Please feel free to reach out so we can talk about how I can best support you!

Hi, I’m Shannon Gavin, LCSW. I made the move to Colorado in 2020, right after earning my master's degree in Social Work. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with a broad range of mental health challenges, which has helped me develop a flexible and personalized approach to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I tailor each therapeutic approach to fit the unique needs and personality of the individual I’m working with. You can expect a laid-back and approachable atmosphere when we work together, but I’m also direct and straightforward when the situation calls for it. My focus is on empowering you while providing a warm and supportive space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings. Whether you've experienced inpatient behavioral health care or are seeking outpatient therapy, I bring experience and genuine care to every session. I’m here to support your journey and help you find practical, meaningful ways to improve your mental well-being.
I am currently accepting new clients. I utilize EMDR, mindfulness techniques, and somatic experiencing to address concerns including trauma, trauma based OCD, and a variety of related issues.
I help people who feel stunted by the lingering impact of trauma and early childhood relational wounding. I offer a welcoming space where safety and trust are imperative, inviting my clients to be truly heard and seen in a non-judgmental environment. By aligning to client's innate wisdom and utilizing Somatic, trauma and other mindfulness based modalities, I assist clients in feeling heard, empowered and supported to work through trauma and relational wounds. Together we set out on a journey to find greater flexibility and ease in life and to feel freedom and confidence to have a life worth living. As a graduate of Naropa University's Contemplative Psychotherapy program I have trained in intensive mindfulness meditation practices which generate greater curiosity, self-compassion and wisdom. With this as my therapeutic base, I incorporate Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and other somatic based modalities for treating trauma, attachment and relational wounds.
I specialize in helping people through difficult times, whether due to a loss or a transition. It is in these times that we feel most afraid, lost, and unsure of the way forward. It is all too common that we cope with adversity by being hard on ourselves, withdrawing in shame, or disconnecting from what nourishes us. I will help you find the tools and skills within yourself to move forward and create a new life. I will work with you to accept where you are now, find the strengths and skills you already have, and use them to climb out of your current state of unhappiness, guilt, or numbness, and toward more flexibility, joy, love, and gratitude. I use various techniques and modalities to achieve this with you, but the primary tool I use is Self- Compassion. Finding the support you need right now is important to your healing journey. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate perspective that focuses on reframing your experience, and providing relief from suffering in the moment. The pain and fear of depression and anxiety can often cause feelings of isolation and despair, but you don't have to go through it alone.
Hello, I’m George Joseph, LMHC, LPC, a licensed psychotherapist with nearly 30 years of experience. I work with college students and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, panic, relationship stress, academic pressure, life transitions, and ADHD-related concerns. Hi! If you're carrying a story that feels too heavy, too painful, or perhaps too fragmented to tell, I offer a supportive space to help you reclaim the parts of your story that have been buried, silenced, or distorted by trauma. Together, we will work to gently untangle your story, reconnect with your inner strength, and move toward lasting relief and empowerment. You deserve to feel safe, grounded, and whole. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and respectful of your pace. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about honoring the parts of you that adapted to survive and creating space for something new. Sometimes the first step in healing is telling your story. As a fellow artistic, compassionate human, I am here to hear your story and assist you in continuing along your journey in this life.
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. For the “weirdos,” “misfits,” seekers and dreamers. Those who feel invisible, not enough, alone or like you are not able to be fully you and still be loved. The people who find solace in books and music, and intimate conversations. Who deeply feel there is something more or a better world possible. For people who feel both at home and alone in solitude. You’re not wrong for holding contradictions and it makes sense if the world feels at times both too heavy to bear and so full of magic and wonder. Have you been told that the way you experience the world is "too much" or you are "too sensitive?" Maybe you feel like you have a breadth of awareness and understanding but don't experience the solace you are longing for. Or that you have had to hide parts of yourself to belong, only to feel more disconnected. Imagine a life where you feel connected, alive and able to embrace the fullness and vastness of who you are. Where your energy can move towards things outside of the performance of being acceptable. I view therapy as quiet work; where the small and sometimes big shifts, hold the power to change what is possible for all of us. I will be with you as you gain clarity around your own wisdom and knowing; deconstruct the unhelpful stories you hold about yourself; and I will always sit with you through discomfort, dis-ease, celebration and joy. I work from modalities and techniques that are rooted in story telling and visualization (Narrative, IFS); and body based awareness and nervous system regulation (Somatic).
I specialize in working with adults of all genders who are struggling with unhealthy relationship patterns, low self-esteem, family of origin or attachment wounds, identity exploration, addiction, & more.
