Do you feel misunderstood and stuck in your head? Do you feel a desire for change but are lacking direction? Maybe you feel stuck in a relationship, a job, or a state of mind that has left you feeling unsatisfied, anxious, or depressed. As a clinician, I believe that my role is to create a completely non-judgmental space for you to process and grow. The more we can be vulnerable in expressing our true (and sometimes messy) selves, the closer we get to living fully, authentically, and with a sense of ease. I approach every session with an open mind, and a deep sense of compassion for your unique story. I am transparent, collaborative, and am a valuable resource for you on your path towards meaningful change, peace of mind, and personal empowerment. I work with clients ages 18+ who are experiencing ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, substance misuse, are having existential questions or are stuck in building their identity; who are in the middle of a stressful life transition, are having family issues, issues in work and/or school, difficulty with self-esteem or social skills, grief, or loss of a relationship.

College can be a wild mix of freedom and stress... with friend drama, missing home but wanting independence, figuring out what you want to do with your life, financial pressure, loneliness when friend groups shift, and the everyday weight of adult responsibilities starting to pile up. It’s a lot to carry, and it makes sense if you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure how to handle it all. And then, when you’re finally ready to reach out for support, finding a therapist can feel like another full-time assignment. Scrolling through endless profiles feels a little like online dating... you’re reading way too many bios, everyone sounds kind of the same, and you’re left wondering who you’ll actually click with. Add in the stress of costs, schedules, and trying to figure out if they’ll really get what you’re going through, and it’s exhausting before you even start. My goal is to make that step less overwhelming and give you a space where you don’t have to perform, pretend, or have it all figured out.
It's midnight and your up feeling anxious about that upcoming exam. You can't focus because you are trying to deal with that knot in your stomach called stress from a recent break up. You know you're capable of doing more, but right now your feeling unmotivated and are spending more time overthinking than living and enjoying your life. So I am here to tell you; Enough is Enough. It’s time to reclaim your life! I am a Licensed Clinician specializing in women’s mental health. I help young adults and college students with managing aspects of their, personal, professional, and family lives. I strive to help women who feel that they have to do everything and be everything for everyone; recognize that what they need and want matters too. My work also includes providing therapy to women who are having a difficult time adjusting after a breakup or divorce. I help empower women to regain self-esteem, set boundaries, and recognize their self-worth. I believe that my role as your therapist is to provide you with a safe, supportive and collaborative environment. Through therapy, I will support and empower you to make wanted changes in your life. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. Whether you are dealing with a temporary problem or want to engage longer term to work on more challenging issues, I can help. I absolutely love what I do, and am truly passionate about women’s mental health. I believe every woman has the potential for satisfaction and fulfillment in life, and I would be honored to walk alongside you in this new journey.
My practice is via telehealth. I treat individuals ages 18-78. I work with the client to reach goals they set.

Everyone experiences wounds in life, be it loss, illness, abuse, a difficult relationship, neglect, or any other overwhelming issue. Sometimes even experiences that "should" bring joy like graduating, starting a new job, marriage, or having children can render us feeling like we are in crisis - or stuck. We work with clients to help them get unstuck from feelings of anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity. When we can identify the patterns that keep us in pain, we can begin to develop new ways to cope and manage the stress of our lives.
Sara Pelaez is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional practicing in Georgia, Illinois, and Florida. She works with individuals and couples with a focus on students. Many of her clients have found great success in their personal and college lives, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships or at peace in their daily lives. Sara is particularly sensitive to clients facing present-past trauma, moments of transition, relationship or emotional issues when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge. Sara’s approach is rooted in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Emotional Focus Therapy. These are evidence-based approaches that focus on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected so that they can begin to make a targeted change. It is a bottom-up/top-down approach that provides a 360 view of the client's inner world. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change. Sara is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. A trauma-informed therapist, Sara is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion. Sara’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.
