Navigating life's challenges can feel impossible at times, even if we find ourselves seemingly surrounded by support. Are you in the middle of a life transition, unsure of the next steps to take to help you move forward? Are you open to exploring past and present experiences in a judgment-free space, in the hopes of bringing you closer to emotional freedom? In my work with adult individuals, I integrate mindfulness practices and various evidence-based techniques to help you develop healthy coping mechanisms, build self-compassion, and create a more fulfilling life. I approach my work in therapy with a trauma-informed, person-focused, eclectic perspective. This means that I use a variety of tools and techniques in therapy (e.g., psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, CBT, DBT, integrative family systems, Emotionally-Focused Therapy), curated to support each client’s needs in the moment. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to live a life that aligns with your values and desired outcomes. Our past experiences may continue to be a part of us, but it is my hope that our work together will empower you to be your own unique person, flaws and all.

I specialize in working with girls, women, and gender-expansive individuals navigating eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. Many of my clients are highly self-aware and emotionally sensitive, yet feel overwhelmed by the weight of expectations, inner criticism, or the pressure to keep functioning while struggling beneath the surface. If you're a young adult or adult, you may be in a season of transition, burnout, or disconnection. You might be questioning your worth, your direction, or your relationship with your body and mind. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and begin to move forward with clarity and self-compassion. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection. My style of therapy meets you where you are, honoring your lived experience while gently guiding you toward deeper healing.

Welcome, I’m Matthew, and I'm here to guide you on a transformative journey towards a more authentic, fulfilling, and purposeful life. As you embark on this exciting new chapter, I want you to know that I'll meet you right where you are, and that I’ll be on your team. It's incredibly important to me that everyone feels welcomed and valued, regardless of their orientation, race, background, or identity. I specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating neurodiversity and Autism, healing from the complexities of trauma, seeking support and recovery from eating disorders, and anyone who wants to embrace the potential of a major life transition. I’m also well versed in depression and anxiety; I have your back for that, too! When it comes to therapy, I have an open-minded, understanding, empathetic, and honest approach. I firmly believe in collaborating with my clients and working together to set realistic goals that feel manageable and empowering. While I'm all about providing practical and helpful support, I also think humor has a special place in the therapeutic process. It's a powerful tool that can bring lightness and healing. To make sure I custom tailor my approach to your unique needs, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Person Centered, Somatic Healing & Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Transactional Analysis. If you’re still reading, then you’ve come this far. Take the next step. Connect with me, let’s begin. About me: My wife and I moved to Atlanta from Michigan in 2009, and we currently live in EAV with our dog, Helmet. When I’m not “therapizing,” you can find me looking at street art, pretending to be a chef, and seeking a deeper spiritual connection. ~ Matthew sees adults and teens, individuals and couples. His rate is $180 per session, with some sliding scale spaces available in an effort to remove financial barriers to treatment. Align Wellness's sliding scale spots are prioritized for trans and BIPOC clients. Matthew is in network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Humana, Ambetter, and Multiplan, and can provide documentation for out of network insurance reimbursement for all other plans.

Cura Couples & Family Therapy Center of Atlanta is a private practice of Black female clinicians who specialize in attachment based therapeutic strategies to help you with relational challenges individually, as a couple or within a family unit. We help clients live life a little better. If your relationship is on the rocks, how can you possibly study? If your family is not understanding who you are, how can you be okay? If you’re overwhelmed by the transition to college, a new state and not knowing anyone here, how can you imagine staying and doing well? College life simply put is different and when added to trying to maintain grades, sports, learning independence and possibly learning differences, anxiety can get pretty high. Cura can help! We have immediate availability and you can schedule directly on the website. We offer reduced rates and virtual sessions too!

I am passionate about helping young adults process their identity and emotions during life transitions and as they come into who they are. Clients leaving high school, graduating college, entering marriage or their first jobs often find that they are reevaluating what their values are and how their early childhood experiences have affected them. I enjoy working with clients as they walk through these parts of their story and come to understand themselves better.

My name is Dakota Fidram, an associate professional counselor providing affirmative therapy in Atlanta, GA. I have worked with a wide range of diverse clients. Many of my previous clients have sought help for depression, anxiety, family/relationship conflict, and more. Here are some of the areas I am passionate about serving: identity exploration, LGBTQ+, chronic disability/ invisible illness, alternative spirituality, existential questions, polyamory/open relationships. I offer in-person sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays 12pm to 6pm. I offer online virtual sessions Monday through Friday 12pm to 6pm. I have worked with a wide range of diverse clients. My prior experiences in both a community clinic setting as well as a university setting has put me in contact with a variety of client issues. Many of my previous clients have sought help for depression, anxiety, family/relationship conflict, substance use, adjusting to difficult life transitions, exploring and redefining personal identities, and sometimes simply learning more about who they are and who they want to be. Here is a snapshot of my specialty areas: Depression Anxiety/Panic Attacks Identity exploration LGBTQ+ Life transitions Chronic Disability/ Invisible Illness Alternative spirituality Existential questions Before studying and graduating with a master of science degree in clinical mental health counseling, I studied and taught French and Francophone language, literature, and culture. Having studied in Quebec, Canada and having taught English in France reinforced my devotion for expanding perspectives and developing insight. I eventually decided to apply my passion for introspection and self-exploration to help those who need a guiding hand through life's trials and travails. Upon returning to the US, I enrolled in the University of North Georgia's counseling program. I interned in a community counseling setting in North Georgia as well as in a college counseling setting at Kennesaw State University. These experiences continued to inspire me to help those in most need of sensitive care, such as the LGBTQ+ community. Insight and introspection can be lifesavers when we feel as though we’ve lost our way. Learning new ways of handling and adapting to all of life’s changes can be revitalizing. We can grow through obtaining new perspective. I would be excited to be there with you on your path as a co-journeyer and as a provider of objective, researched-based counseling.
