I am a Millennial therapist providing virtual sessions who loves to help people achieve a more balanced life. Together, we will explore concerns you may have such as low self-confidence, unhealthy boundaries, stress and anxiety, difficulty completing tasks, career exploration, work/life balance, depression, relationship issues, or even if you just need a listening ear. I aim to create a comforting space that allows you to dive deep to the root causes of your concerns. I currently work with Renewed Journey Counseling Services LLC and am under the supervision of Msichana McDole. I have enjoyed utilizing a person-centered approach to counseling which views the client as the expert on themselves. I have helped clients gain new confidence in themselves, engage in self-care, learn new strategies through CBT, create and maintain healthy boundaries, and overall find balance in their lives. As someone who continues to work on strategies to combat anxiety, I know how important it is to find a therapist who gets you. My clients have enjoyed my direct but comforting approach to sessions. Are you feeling overwhelmed under the pressures of facing life transitions, hacking adulthood, success/failure, and your FUTURE, particularly in these stressful, uncertain times? Finding an older adult who really gets it, and opening up to a stranger can also be really stressful- I understand! I promise, I really get all that you may be struggling with and can help you learn to cope with it all better, feel less overwhelmed, and be more confident in your ability to not just be “okay,” but to thrive. I work with a lot of folks in their twenties, and always strive to have a relaxed, supportive, inclusive, affirming, and judgment-free safe space for all clients to help them to learn and determine more about Who they are and want to be, to like and value themselves, manage stress and life better, take on each day confidently, and just generally believe they really can figure it out and do it (whatever “it” is). Through a compassionate trauma-informed, strengths-based lens, I seek to help my clients become empowered to heal, grow, and thrive. I work with adults, including many zoomers and zillennials, from all various backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, faiths, and world-views. While I see that most issues are grounded in some depth of trauma, my focused areas include: anxiety, loss/grief, PTSD and C-PTSD, stress, burnout, perfectionism, Self-Image & Identity, adjustment, attachment wounds / developmental trauma, interpersonal/relationship issues (including w/ family), narcissistic abuse survival, and recovery & relapse prevention. (I also offer a faith-based orientation by client request.) My collaborative approach to therapy does involve talking about life’s issues, but I don’t just repeat things back to you or tell you to change a thought or behavior. I tend to also promote thinking about things from new, alternative perspectives and of yourself in a sense of various parts, to provide comfortable structure and accountability, help you identify and then to understand the real reasons WHY patterns have developed & happen, and to learn how to feel safe, grounded, and regulated within yourself - no matter where you are. I’d say I take a Whole-istic mind-body stance, and often use neuro-somatic techniques, including Brainspotting (BSP) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) to help reduce reactive feelings, as well as the integration of therapeutic psychedelics for deeper healing. Call, text, or email me whenever you’re ready, and let’s discuss your therapy needs and goals for being the best version of your Self! Lara Eddleman, MS, LPC, CCTP

I enjoy working with youth and young adults who are experiencing issues with perfectionism, hypersensitivity, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and/or disordered eating. I’m passionate about working with individuals who are navigating their gender identity and providing supportive and affirming care to queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients. At the core of my approach is a commitment to the principles of attachment-based and person-centered therapy. Through this methodology, we can facilitate positive growth and personal development, guiding clients on a path toward healing and self-discovery.
Please call and leave a voicemail if sending email. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia, with over 33 years of experience in the mental health field. I like to collaborate with and help clients with Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders and/or disordered eating, Trauma, PTSD, Relationship and family of origin concerns, Bodily Focused Repetitive Behaviors, Chronic Pain, Chronic Medical Problems, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, and Caregiver stress. I began Telehealth therapy via HIPAA compliant video sessions during COVID. However, video sessions may not always continue to be covered by all insurance plans and may not always be preferable for certain clients. When you’re not experiencing COVID or any other contagious symptoms, I offer Telehealth Monday-Thursdays, and in-person psychotherapy sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the Decatur?Scottdale, GA area. Our office (house) is located not far from Emory University, Agnes Scott College, and Decatur. We offer free parking in a wheelchair accessible building. Please see my profile in Psychology Today for more information, and feel free to call me for a phone consultation. Phone calls generally work best, as I occasionally miss emails, so if you email me, please follow up with a phone call. I look forward to speaking with you - let’s see if I would be a good match for your needs! INSURANCE NOTE: I do take Aetna Student Health insurance, however I'm not a CORE provider (Tier 1). I am an In-network (Tier 2), preferred provider with Aetna, and Aetna Student Health Insurance will have a different rate/copy, &/or coinsurance amount for Tier 2 providers than for CORE providers. Although I may be able to explain potential differences in coverage, I encourage you to check your insurance benefits for the differences between in-and out-of-network providers and the difference between core and non-core providers, whether your deductible has been met, and the required copay/co-insurance information for the cost of the session prior to making an appointment.

Hello and welcome to my page! Reaching out is the first step towards healing and I'm glad you are here. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and honest. Before moving into private practice I worked in a variety of therapeutic settings at the inpatient and residential level of care. I am passionate about helping others look back at the experiences that have shaped who they are so they might have a clearer and more satisfying path forward. I draw from a combination of techniques including psychodynamic and attachment theories. If you find that you have difficulty functioning in everyday life, finding joy, communicating effectively and maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships, I would love to work with you. As a counselor, I work with individuals struggling with little t trauma (emotional abuse, prolonged stress, chronic disappointment, abandonment, neglect, relational distress with family members and/or significant other), grief/loss, women’s issues, spiritual trauma, and those who would like to learn more about their attachment style. Outside of work my interests include hiking, kickboxing, paddle boarding and traveling anywhere a place, train, car, or boat can take me.
I am motivated to serve my community by merging my clinical expertise and lived experience. This looks like a focus on work with trans people. I believe strongly that trans clients deserve trans clinicians. I also serve folks with chronic illness and neurodiversity. Trauma is an experience that most of us have and I center it in all the work I do. I am a somatic therapist. This means I am passionate about your mental and physical health. I use modalities such as Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist my clients on their path to heal in response to stress and trauma. If you feel compelled to work with me please reach out. I am easily available by phone or email so we can talk more. I am accepting new clients and hungry to work with folks in my community!
