As a therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other strategies to help clients explore the interactions between their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. My style is collaborative, client-driven, and forward-focused. Additionally, I enjoy looking at the systemic factors in a person's life, including family dynamics, relationships at work or school, and even interactions with friends or partners. My purpose is to help you maximize the opportunities in your life to achieve your goals through empathy and a strength-based focus. I specialize in anger and anxiety management across the life span, especially with teens and adults. I am certified in Thinking for a Change (T4C) and Aggression Replacement Training (ART). Additionally, I have extensive experience working with and advocating for people going through the legal system, including people facing domestic violence charges. Life is incredibly overwhelming at times, isn’t it? We have all kinds of expectations and demands from our family, our partners, friends, employers, professors, and even ourselves. It can seem like a harsh world and the last few years have felt especially taxing. So many young adults are inundated with stress and sadness. This can lead to feeling anxious, unfocused, unproductive, and irritable. Then the self-doubt and criticism inevitably emerge and the questions of “What is my purpose?” and “Will things ever get better?” arise. If you are experiencing challenges or struggles, I would love to work with you and create some clear and concise goals as well as strategies to attain your objectives. I incorporate an integrative approach to therapy, using evidence-based cognitive behavioral and solution-focused techniques into my practice, primarily. We can talk about whatever is causing you stress. Seriously! Nothing is off-limits and there’s no judgement here. Instead, we explore the issues that impact your relationships and your life. Together, we will work to understand the origins of your overwhelming emotions, create some self-care practices for you, develop coping skills to help you feel better, and set forth an action plan to help you move forward. We will work towards your vision of happiness and contentment so that you can live the life that you deserve! I can offer you an empathetic and nonjudgmental relationship in which I support and encourage you in working through your frustrations, questions of identity and self-exploration, or relationship issues. I can assist you to become more aware of your emotional responses to disappointments, and to see that setbacks can be a time of self-reflection and growth. I taught at the college-level for many years and have vast experience with both young and older adults in the college environment who have had personal, academic, and career concerns. I truly enjoy the college population and would feel honored to help. Let's connect! Please visit my website and schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me.

My clients are motivated towards long term change. Many are seeking relief from painful experiences. Most recognize a need to regain control. And, almost all do not know how to achieve on their own what they are acknowledging they need. They are tired of going through the motions of life and wish to experience it fully, again. Some come with deep hurt from various relationships that they need support in resolving. And all simply want to live authentically. My goal is to provide the type of therapeutic environment that clients feel safe to be vulnerable and present with their feelings. I offer a strength based, person centered approach, rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, or Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Choosing a therapist is not easy and the task can feel overwhelming at a time in your life that is already stressful. Therefore, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation with me. This will afford an opportunity to hear my voice and briefly discuss your reason for therapy.
College and young adulthood can be exciting, confusing, stressful, and exhausting — sometimes all at once. I work with students who are dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, identity exploration, academic pressure, and major life transitions. I aim to create a therapy space that feels genuine, supportive, and judgment-free. You don’t need to have the “right” words or know exactly what’s wrong to begin therapy. Together, we can explore what’s been weighing on you, strengthen coping skills, and help you feel more grounded and connected in your day-to-day life. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Therapy is not about being perfect — it’s about having space to be human while learning new ways to care for yourself.
