Therapists for college students near Boston College
I am certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. In this approach, we get to know the different parts of you — the ones that may overfunction, strive for perfection, people-please, worry, or carry painful emotions. Rather than judging those parts, we learn to understand them with curiosity and compassion. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and help your system feel more balanced and connected. If faith or spirituality is important to you, we can absolutely incorporate that into our sessions. And if it’s not, that’s perfectly okay too.
I am a licensed mental health professional and I work with individuals from adolescence through adulthood, from various cultural backgrounds. I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing issues with depression, anxiety, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I see therapy as a collaborative process and am honored each time clients trust me to walk alongside them in their respective healing journeys. I am a passionate trauma-informed, person-centered therapist, who seeks to make mental health services accessible and welcoming to all, especially Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) communities. To meet the needs of my clients, I utilize an individualized, strengths-based approach that often incorporates aspects of motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), brainspotting, mindfulness/meditation, trauma-informed yoga, and relational work/

You have been trying to get to a place where you can be authentically you. But currently, so much is defined or dominated by relational trauma or systemic oppression. We can work together to heal from trauma from the past, and work together on the current traumas that impact your life. As a therapist, I work to be affirming of who you are - so that you have the space to be you and bring that best version of you out into the world.
At Behavioral Solutions, we aim to make mental health care simple, accessible, and consistent for college students. Our practice is fully virtual, allowing you to meet with a licensed therapist through secure telehealth sessions wherever you are — at school, at home, or anywhere in between. Because our clinicians are licensed in Massachusetts, Maine, Georgia, Florida and Michigan, students in those states can continue working with the same therapist while home on breaks or moving between school and home. My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, welcoming, safe space where you can explore the areas in which you feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that serve you, as well as identify those that don’t. We can identify new options and help you make more empowered choices. Reaching out for help is a courageous act. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your witness and to walk beside you as you begin your healing journey. When we feel safe enough to feel our feelings, we can begin to move through them, towards healing. I invite you to contact me for a free 15 minute consult to see if we are a good fit to work together.

I support young adults with a wide range of struggles and utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities. My experience consists of providing psychotherapy and neuropsychological testing in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and residential treatment facilities.
You've faced so many challenges, and trauma has a knack for taking over everything. Maybe you try to keep busy to escape from it all, but most of the time, it's all-consuming. Your work or studies suffer, because you can’t concentrate. Your relationships are affected as well. It can be hard for others who haven't experienced similar struggles to truly understand you and what’s happening for you. Even for you, finding the right words to articulate it all can be tough. This makes connecting with others a bit more challenging. But trauma doesn't have to be your whole story. It doesn't have to consume your days, thoughts, relationships, and work. Even the trauma that stems from marginalization and oppression doesn't have to define you. Therapy can be where you separate out what has happened to you, from who you are and want to be. It can provide a space to discover peace, clarity, and even moments of joy amidst life's challenges. My passion lies in supporting survivors of interpersonal trauma, particularly those who have experienced child abuse, as well as individuals who face the daily impact of systemic oppression, including BIPOC, LGBTQAI+ individuals, and those who and those who navigate the complex intersections of marginalization. As a biracial Asian and White woman, I daily I navigate the hurtful impacts of racism and sexism in our world. Being multiracial allows me to see the world from different angles, and I appreciate both the difficulties and advantages it brings. I am 3rd-generation Chinese. I carry within me a deeply personal understanding of the burdens of generational trauma and the stress of acculturation within my family. However, I am aware that my experiences are limited to my own point of view and I don't assume to fully grasp how similar experiences have affected others. I approach everyone I meet, regardless of our similarities, with humility.
I enjoy working collaboratively with young adults and adolescents navigating identity exploration and development, relationship challenges, and transitions. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, Autistic, college students, or those who may be wondering about the intersection of queerness and neurodivergence. I strive to meet clients where they are at and work collaboratively to identify needs and goals. My approach to counseling informed by relational and emotionally focused lenses. I work with clients from culturally responsive and identity-affirming perspectives and consider the impact of sociocultural identities on current distress. Clients have appreciated my compassionate and direct approach, and the use of humor as part of a strong relationship. I offer free 15 minute consultations for those who are interested in services. I believe that therapist fit is very important and want to make sure you can connect with a provider that meets your needs.
Hi, I’m Molly Johnson and I’m a licensed therapist in both Massachusetts and Minnesota. I’m passionate about helping people heal, deepen their insight, and become more skillful in how they live their life. While I previously offered in-person therapy, I now work exclusively through virtual sessions. Many clients begin with some hesitation, but soon find that virtual therapy feels just as connected and supportive as being in the room together. My therapeutic approach draws from DBT, CBT, and other evidence-based practices, but at the heart of my work is a genuine listening ear, attentive presence and someone who is cheering you on!
