I hold a B. A. in English from Shanghai University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Over the last 19 years, I interned and practiced at various inpatient and outpatient settings, including Mt. Sinai-Roosevelt Hospital in NYC, Mt. Sinai-Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC, Amherst College Counseling Center in Amherst, MA, and the Community Health Center of Franklin County in Greenfield, MA. My own cross-cultural and cross-lingual experiences continue to shape the way I work. My “ideal patient” often shares these essential characteristics with me: bilingualism/biculturalism; deep-seated values for family, language, and culture; experiences of migration and adversity; an appreciation for authenticity and openness; and an unyielding curiosity about the inner workings of their own minds and those of others. I look forward to working with you!

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker operating remotely in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Massachusetts. I specialize in personalized therapy for individuals who are navigating the tumultuous waters of anxiety, depression, diminished self-worth, strained relationships, and significant life changes. Are you feeling overwhelmed by the pain of past experiences or daunting emotions? Are they negatively impacting your relationships and professional life? Are you starting college and feeling overwhelmed and having difficulty adjusting to college life? We will work together to change that narrative.
At its core, therapy is about the people sitting in a room together (or often sitting on computers together), and that safety within the relationship is one of the most important aspects of finding a good fit. I am honored to create that space with you. As a therapist, I start with one basic assumption: you are the expert of your own experience. My hope is to empower people to better understand those experiences or to bring in additional perspectives that might shed more light on aspects of one’s life. Informed by my background in queer theory, feminist theory, and anti-racist ideologies, I work with my clients to identify the external structures of power impacting their lives, then engage with the areas of their lives within their control where they can make changes and achieve their goals. While many forms of therapy take from one another and blend together, I begin with trauma informed relational-focused work and draw heavily on DBT/CBT/mindfulness-based therapy modalities. I view therapeutic relationships as dynamic, and work to tailor the experience to my clients’ needs and preferences. Whether you are someone who likes sessions to feel more conversational, someone who appreciates tangible takeaways like worksheets, or someone who wants to spend time practicing skills in our sessions, we can work together to find a treatment plan that suits you.
Are you feeling overwhelmed or stressed? You don't have to face challenges alone. I offer compassionate support to help you grow to who you want to be. My experience as a therapist includes working with students at Cornell University on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, academic and career stressors, perfectionism, relationships, addiction/recovery, grief and loss, and trauma/PTSD. I offer cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including DBT for emotional regulation, and EMDR for trauma and PTSD. My practice is via telehealth in NY, MA, and ME, and I have appointments available now. Please call or email me for a free 20-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit (no texts). I hope to speak with you soon!
Currently accepting new clients! As a therapist, I believe that every individual has the potential to heal, grow, and thrive. My approach to therapy is grounded in a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and solution-focused perspective. This means that I recognize the impact of trauma on individuals' lives, and I create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and develop strategies for healing and growth. Whether you are facing a major life transition, such as a job loss or divorce, or struggling with interpersonal conflicts, anxiety, or depression, I can provide guidance and support as you navigate these difficult experiences. My primary focus is on empowering clients to build resilience and manage these challenges effectively, while identifying solutions. Therapy can feel daunting to some, but I believe in empowering clients to take charge of their treatment journey, focusing on their strengths and resilience.
