Feeling stuck in a bad pattern and can't seem to find the way out? Let's talk! I work with unwanted habits and addictions of all kinds, from alcoholism to eating disorders to avoidant procrastination. Any behavior that can spiral out of control, I've probably worked with it. My goals are simple: to help you design and put into practice a life that you feel is balanced, healthy, and happy. We use small changes to get big outcomes that are - most importantly - maintainable long term. Message me or check out my website for more information. Always happy to chat or answer questions!
If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious and unsure you can explore these feelings in therapy with me. I offer my clients a safe and nonjudgmental space where we collaborate on reaching their goals together. I practice using cognitive behavioral therapy where we can examine the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and actions and make changes so that you feel more like yourself again.
I enjoy working with individuals who have ADHD, anxiety, self-esteem issues, trauma and/or emotion dysregulation. Through the use of specialized therapies (including CBT), I help you develop the ability to manage and express your thoughts and feelings, improve your relationships, get your needs met, extinguish the need for unhealthy behaviors, and develop a sense of internal completeness. I am a hypnotherapist as well a psychotherapist. I believe that therapy can produce healthy changes. I love being a therapist and understand the risk involved in taking the first steps toward getting help. Contact me today to begin your journey toward a satisfying life! While I am happy to address relationship issues, I do not provide couples therapy. I also do not treat eating disorders.

I work with people navigating a season of change, whether through grief, identity exploration, burnout, or relationship transitions, and they are seeking a space where they don’t have to carry it all alone. They may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about the future, but they also have a deep desire to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. Many of the people I work with are highly introspective and care deeply about others, but struggle to extend that same compassion to themselves. They want to feel seen, validated, and supported as a whole person with layered experiences. I specialize in working with people moving through grief, life transitions, and identity-related challenges. I offer a queer-affirming and trauma-informed space where clients can show up as they are. My approach to therapy is relational, compassionate, and grounded in deep listening. If you're feeling the weight of grief, burnout, identity shifts, or emotional disconnection, you don't have to face it alone. Healing isn’t linear, and it doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen when you feel safe, understood, and empowered. Therapy is a powerful act of selfcare and trust, and I'd be honored to be part of that journey with you.

Brittany is a licensed mental health counselor, working with teens and adults for mental health struggles. Brittany specializes in women's health issues, parenting, eating struggles, and self-compassion. Brittany helps client build goals and provide structure to create change in their lives.
During your life, you may experience difficult periods of adjustment related to major life changes and/or losses, difficulty in relationships, and/or cultural/social differences in environmental contexts. These periods in your life may lead to or be related to general difficulty coping with life circumstance, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. I provide a holistic approach to working with clients striving to understand them from an intrapsychic, interpersonal, and sociocultural perspective. In working with you, I endeavor to understand how your personality, relationships, and sociocultural identities and environmental contexts interact to affect your psychological functioning and wellbeing. Personal development through counseling/psychotherapy comes from feeling secure in a relational context to explore one's issues. Primary to this process is the establishment of a nurturing therapeutic relationship/alliance. In establishing a safe environment, I will assist you in experiencing more satisfying attitudes, relationships, and feeling more empowered. A major aspect of my work involves understanding how racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity affects one's psychosocial functioning. Understanding your sociocultural identities and how they inform and affect your life assists me in determining what interventions and techniques will be most appropriate for you.
I work with individual clients and couples to increase their self-awareness, self-compassion, health, wellness, and overall joy in their lives! I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe in each person's inherent goodness, right to individuality, and uniqueness. Each of us the keeper of our own life and only we know what is truly best for ourselves. And, we have the power to choose what is best! In the moments of indecision, when we apply love and self-compassion, we have all we need to make a decision. And sometimes, when everything falls apart, that is when perfection can set in. I work with clients with a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, sexual health concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting, infertility, postpartum, communication difficulties, low energy, among others. I possess a PhD in Education and Counseling, a Master of Social Work degree, am trained in CBT, ISTDP, and am a trained sex therapist. Therapy is a place to feel safe, be who we are with no excuses needed. Creativity, laughter, sharing, and building relationships are what life is about. I use a variety of modalities and techniques that are personalized for each client, along with evidence based practices when appropriate. Life can be difficult, we don't have to go through it alone.

I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist with over fifteen years of experience helping individuals and families overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals. My mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing the skills they need to thrive. If you are having difficulty coping with life events, relationship problems, persistent negative thoughts, depression or anxiety, I believe I can help you.
Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed by anxiety, upsetting intrusive thoughts, or past emotional wounds that continue to affect their relationships, confidence, and sense of safety. They are ready for relief, connection, and to feel more in control of their lives. I help clients by providing specialized treatments for anxiety conditions, OCD, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), perfectionism, and the deep echoes of trauma—from relational and intergenerational wounds to betrayal trauma. I believe therapy can help us grow, even through deep pain. My role is to help you approach yourself with curiosity and compassion while guiding you toward healing and meaningful change. If this feels like the right fit for you then let's connect.
Maybe you are trying to understand your pain, and what you can do about it. Sometimes you might feel empty and numb, or you might feel flooded with overwhelming and difficult feelings. You may have tried to make changes, but you see the same problems coming up again and again in your relationships. Maybe you long to find a sense of meaning, and to feel fully alive. Healing will mean challenging yourself to sit with painful feelings and face your fears. It will be helpful for you to find a safe place to do this hard work. Together, we can make your recovery and growth a priority. I like to work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional concerns, or relationship difficulties. I am committed to providing warmth, support, and challenge to build deep collaborative relationships that yield lasting results. Your struggles, experiences, and feelings are real. They deserve space, attention, and care. I am glad you are looking for help. If you are ready to reach out, leave a voicemail or email me at scottwrightphd@gmail.com to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation. I provide trauma-informed and strength-based psychodynamic therapy to adults seeking to understand the personal, intergenerational, and political factors impacting their mental health. I support my clients in the process of healing from past experiences so that they are able to feel their emotions more fully, develop healthier and deeper connections, and make empowered choices about their futures. I specialize in LGBTQ+ and BIPOC-affirming care, couple's therapy, and perinatal mental health. I use a relational approach to support my clients in becoming more curious about their inner lives, more in touch with their hopes and desires, and clearer about the barriers they are facing to meeting their goals. I believe therapy is about helping us to feel more emotionally resilient in the face of any obstacle. Overall, my main goal is to create a safe relationship so that you feel you have true support on your healing journey.
If you are suffering in any way imaginable, I would be honored to help you find your way through it. I serve students and faculty from every background and with a wide variety of issues, including academic stress, relationship stress, grief and loss, loneliness and despair, shame and guilt, depression, anxiety, and family issues, especially dysfunctional, abusive, incestuous, and alcoholic families. Everything from mild to severe, I have seen it and helped people. I accept Excellus, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. I offer telehealth sessions as well as in-person.
Often in therapy we work to bring what's unconscious into consciousness, which can create more agency, freedom, and choice. As both a psychotherapist and writer, I believe in the power of finding connections between that which is seemingly disconnected in order to uncover a deeper understanding of oneself and the way one relates to others and the world. I specialize in treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relational difficulties, and life transitions. Using a psychodynamic framework and relational lens, my work is informed by both psychoanalytic theories and Buddhist psychology. I often draw from Internal Family Systems framework and specialize in psychedelic integration psychotherapy. I received my psychotherapeutic education from New York University, The National Institute for the Psychotherapies, and Nalanda Institute’s Contemplative Psychotherapy Program. I hold an MSW from NYU, an MFA from The New School, and a BA from Boston College. For more info: alipowerpsychotherapy.com.
