Through this partnership, clients explore their needs, process experiences, acquire coping skills, and cultivate a perspective that promotes authentic self-connection and meaningful engagement with the world. Specializing in grief counseling, I assist people coping with various losses, including relationships, careers, pets, cultures, or hobbies. Drawing from her background as a competitive athlete, I also support athletes with the loss of opportunities, identity, physical abilities, or general sports psychology. Also as a proud Filipina-American, I recognize the difficulty in discussing emotions and mental health within Asian-American communities due to stigma. I advocate for therapy as a safe space to address emotional struggles, and to also express all types of emotions, including positive one’s such as your strengths and achievements. Regardless of one’s identity within the Asian American Pacific Islander Community, I offer support for various challenges including acculturation, family loss, relationship issues, anxiety, depression and identity struggles. I understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach; I will personalize the treatment based on your unique needs and situation. I am here to provide a safe and comfortable place for you to be your real, authentic self, to share a great laugh, cry, or any other emotions free of judgment.
Colorful Mind Psychotherapy is a compassionate team of licensed psychotherapists with years of experience serving Asian American communities. Many of us share lived experiences of immigration, bicultural identity, intergenerational conflicts, overt racism, and microaggressions. These experiences deeply inform our work and strengthen our commitment to supporting the emotional, cultural, and systemic challenges that members of the Asian community often face. Our practice offers tailored therapy for children, families, and adults. Our approach is rooted in trauma-informed care that honors the diverse cultural and personal backgrounds of each client.
Clients who come to me have expressed feeling a change in their mood, such as feeling more irritable, more anxious than usual or that they just don't feel like themselves and aren't enjoying things that they once used to. I will provide you with a non-judgmental and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable talking openly about difficult emotions and topics. Since each person is a unique individual with his or her own experiences, I use a holistic approach to therapy that’s unique to who you are and what you will need to support your well-being. In therapy we will explore connections between your past and present experiences so you can gain a deeper sense of awareness about yourself, identify problems so you can get to the bottom of why you are feeling the way you area and learn coping skills so you can better manage symptoms and find relief in challenging moments. Mental health concerns that I specialize in but are not limited to include: anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as family dynamics, life transitions, career-related stress and self-esteem. We’re told all sorts of misinformed messages that downplay the importance of mental health, so it’s no surprise if you are hesitant or nervous about the idea of therapy but remember that you are entitled to get help, no matter what you are going through.
