Therapists for college students near 10003
I work with LGBTQ+ folks and anyone navigating trauma, OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, or big life transitions... like college students who are panic googling "what am I doing with my life??" at 2am. If you want to make sense of it all without judgment, basic "talk therapy," or silent nods behind a clipboard and want a therapist who keeps things chill, real, and sometimes even funny - I'm your girl. Whether you're spiraling over every “what if,” feeling stuck in patterns that stem from the past, or feeling like you’re losing your mind trying to figure out who you are & where you’re going, we'll work through this together.

I am an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and PNCB Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy and holistic interventions for children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health concerns. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, a Master’s degree in Nursing from Yale University and a Post-Master’s Certificate from Hunter College with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health. My background includes working in Community Health and Outpatient practices. I am strongly committed to working with adolescents and young adults and I have over 15 years of experience with a wide range of common issues like stress, anxiety, depression, and attention deficit (Attention Deficit Disorder/ADHD), amongst others. I also provide care with: relationship difficulties or family or other interpersonal challenges; stresses at work or school; grief or loss; or a tricky transition. As a dually certified provider, my treatment approach respects the client as a whole and I frequently recommend treatment interventions including the use of psychotropic medication, but also place emphasis on other important domains of wellbeing, including nutrition, exercise, interpersonal and familial relationships, and psychotherapy. In my practice, I will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan which may include therapeutic strategies, medication management, or lifestyle changes. My clinical approach is based on the clinical and developmental needs of each client and is tailored to their individual strengths. I integrate the neurobiological understanding of mental health with an emphasis on the nursing model, which focuses on patient education, advocacy, and a holistic approach of maintaining overall wellness.

My goal is to support clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I see therapy as a tool to support and motivate clients in taking control of their lives. I believe that therapy is truly for everyone- you do not need to have a major problem to start therapy. Therapy can be a place where we discuss the good things happening in your life! However, starting therapy is a vulnerable process. I am here to support your experiences and to provide you with the tools to better cope with situations. I focus on exploring clients' inner voices and beliefs that dictate how we interpret situations. I work with young adults and adults. I work mainly with issues around self worth, communication, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a background in education and empathize with young adults and adults striving for perfectionism. I also feel passionately about helping young adults feel empowered and find happiness and success in their careers and the corporate world. As a Jewish therapist, I bring a strong appreciation for how culture, identity, and personal values shape the way we move through the world. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself—whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.

Welcome! Thank you so much for being here. I'm so glad you've started this journey to improve your mental wellbeing. I know how difficult beginnings can be—I’ve worked with a number of first-time and returning therapy clients from backgrounds as diverse as New York City itself. I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients and people with disabilities and neurodivergences. I do my best to honor your cultural experience as we tackle some of life’s biggest challenges together: depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, chronic illness and medical issues, relationship difficulties and life transitions, and problematic drug use or other behaviors that may no longer be serving you. My own career began in worker organizing, then moved into community social work and social policy research. I have a deep appreciation for how relationships and social realities impact mental health and prioritize a relational and social change-oriented approach. Disability justice, racial justice, and gender justice are core tenets of my practice. My work is also influenced by my own experiences as a therapy client: I strive to be as transparent as possible about what we’re doing and why, so you can be a full partner on the journey and never feel left in the dark. Above all, I am person-centered: I start by learning who you are as an individual, your strengths and challenges, and then figure out which clinical approaches can work best for you. I often draw from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am pursuing further training in these modalities. I very much look forward to meeting you and taking this journey together!
