Too much stress can be overwhelming and will affect our concentration, stamina, and clarity of mind. The very nature of trauma is the experience of too much, a feeling of being overwhelmed. My specialty is in Creativity and Trauma and how one informs the other. This is not easy work, but it can be fun. We use what is called a Bottom Up approach, in combination with a Top Down. What this means is we learn to tune into our body brain and not just our head brain. As a Creative Arts psychotherapist and trauma specialist I've discovered ways to work that help you heal, feel better, and help you make more sense out of your life. When we meet first we find out what is going on, what has gone on, and how we want to use our time together. We can continue to talk; we may include some of the modalities in which I am trained (Art Therapy, EMDR...). It depends on what you are most comfortable with, and fits your particular issues and concerns Please know I am exclusively working online
Hi! I am Dr. Monica Johnson. If you’re reading this, it means you are taking your mental and emotional health seriously and researching someone who will be a good fit for your journey. This is exciting! Let me tell you more about me to help you with your decision making process. I am a Licensed Psychologist in NYC, but some people think of me as a problem solving pro, empowerment guru, and self-compassion guide! I partner with my patients to find pathways to a better life. I work best with people who are tired of being stuck and ready to make changes. I can’t change you. Only you can do that, but I’m super excited to be your side kick on the journey and help you highlight roads to success. One of the most important things to know about me is that I am NOT a smile and nod type of therapist. I get down in the trenches with you. I’m down to earth and real with you through this process which means I will call you out on your BS and help you figure out what to do with it. We will work hard and laugh a lot. For the record, there is nothing off limits or shameful in therapy. I’ve seen it all and heard it all. If you need to talk about sex, money, medical issues, or “that one time in Amsterdam,” don’t hesitate! I work with people of all backgrounds (race, gender, sexuality, religion, alternative relationships) and you should expect that I will affirm your identity while helping you to develop a fuller self concept. My job is to help you tap into strengths you already possess (we all have them even if we can’t see them yet) and create new ones! If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, feel constantly overwhelmed by your emotions, past traumas, poor relationships, low self esteem, or just deciding what the next step is in your career/life, I can help.
In a world full of stressors and chaos we tend to forget to take care of our mental health which is a crucial part of our overall well-being. Taking some time to hit pause and talk about the overwhelming feelings life throws at you can help alleviate some anxiety and worries that might be causing overwhelming feelings. It's important to remember to be nice to yourself and one way to start is by seeking support. Hi! My name is Deafny Gallo and I'm a second-year Master’s student in the Mental Health Counseling Program at the City College of New York. My goal is to help my clients work through any issues and stresses they may be dealing with through the use of CBT and a Psychodynamic approach during our sessions together. I have experience working with children, adolescents, young and elderly adults. I aim to approach my client’s issues in a safe and non-judgmental environment where we can establish a trusting relationship to achieve my client’s goals. I look forward to working together in your journey to become a better you! Deafny Gallo is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.

Welcome! I will come to your school or home instead of you having to go to an office. I understand the challenges of being in school and the stress it brings. Hello, I'm Dr. Clifford (please feel free to call me Heather!). I bring a compassionate and a caring approach to therapy that is trauma informed and queer affirming. The transition to young adulthood can be a time of major changes, successes, and disappointments. The pressure of being a young adult and figuring out "the future" is often overwhelming and anxiety provoking. You may be questioning your values, sexuality, relationships and career aspirations. I specialize in helping college students explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are getting in the way of them living a life that is in line with their values. Through our work together I can help you clarify what is important to you and develop skills to help you live the life you choose. I use evidenced based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help support you become present and participate in the important parts of life. I often incorporate mindfulness and compassion focused exercises during sessions. I am committed to unlearning oppressive biases and beliefs including but not limited to white supremacy, racism, ableism, homophobia, and fatphobia. I believe that these systems of oppression hugely impact our mental health and come to play in the therapy room. I am always open to discuss and explore these topics.

I am a New York State licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I work with adults of diverse backgrounds and my areas of special interest include difficult life transitions, relationship conflict, racial/cultural identity, and grief and loss. I offer online video therapy sessions (telehealth) exclusively, making therapy comfortable and accessible. Whether you are struggling with negative feelings toward yourself, dissatisfaction with relationships, your academic performance or are having difficulty letting go of the past, experiencing fear about the future, or simply feeling stuck in current circumstances, therapy can bring about needed change. To achieve this, our work together may involve finding meaning and purpose, establishing or recovering a connection to your inner emotional world and/or important people around you, processing and recovering from emotional wounds, be they old or recent, or formulating a concrete plan of action and working on it together step by step. My theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic and I integrate other approaches (i.e. DBT, CBT, etc.) as appropriate while always working from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens. I am Zur Institute certified in teletherapy. I offer a free brief phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial appointment in order to clarify whether teletherapy with me would be a good fit. Please visit www.afapsychology.com to schedule your free consultation.
