Hi, I’m Summer, a psychotherapist at Wove Therapy! I’m passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges and helping them discover their strengths along the way. I’ve had the honor of working with a wide range of clients, each with their own unique experiences, across various settings. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship issues, I’m here to guide you in a safe and supportive space. I look forward to being part of your journey!
We aim to provide a warm and affirming space that focuses on individuals’ innate strengths and promotes self-acceptance. Through a collaborative and interactive approach, we support our clients by exploring their emotional health and engaging in the change process, to reach their fullest potential.
Your emotional wellness is not a luxury – it’s a necessity in an ever-changing society. In order to create real change in your life, you must care for your mental health needs. I provide quality therapy for young professionals in NYC, couples therapy, and perinatal therapy. No matter what your age or relationship status, if you’re here it’s because you’re looking to make a change. Maybe you don’t feel good enough – you’re insecure and not sure what your next step is. Or perhaps you’re overloaded with tasks and your anxiety is through the roof, you’re feeling so overwhelmed that you don’t even know where to begin. Living in a world of anxiety and worry takes a toll on your mental health. If you find yourself not feeling good enough, or you’re taking care of others instead of yourself, it might be time to seek help. I support people going through major life transitions such as becoming a parent, starting a relationship or dealing with the breakup, having work-related stress, becoming an entrepreneur, or getting through graduate school. I also work with clients who suffer from low self-esteem and those who feel like there’s something in the way of enjoying life. By providing safe and supportive space in therapy, I empower clients to feel good about themselves, build resiliency and take steps towards greater happiness. In my practice, I believe that therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all experience. I utilize elements of CBT, Internal Family Therapy, Mindfulness, and Gestalt therapies which are tailored to your unique needs. You will learn coping skills to manage anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, social anxiety, and criticism. There are times when we ask ourselves questions we feel we have no answers to: "Why am I not happy?", "How do I improve my life?" and "Will I ever find a solution to this problem that is consistent and stressful?". Have hope! The answers are there inside of you, waiting to be discovered. I strive to support my clients without judgement, challenging those who are ready to explore themes of personal responsibility, meaning, and resolution. Through genuine client/therapist interactions, the emotional impact of trauma, loss, depression, and/or anxiety can be relieved, and answers found. I have a wide range of experience in helping those who may be suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. Working with older adolescents to older adults, I find that combining a person-centered therapy model with CBT, Gestalt, and Mindfulness interventions can be especially helpful. It is my belief that therapy should be an experience of thoughtfulness, reflection and discovery. In-the-moment therapeutic experiments, music therapy, and artistic mindfulness are all tools that can be used to stir the creative process towards finding the answers one is looking for, and the journey thereafter.

You’re on edge all day and sometimes feel like you may be having a heart attack. You don’t feel like you fit in anywhere. You’ve been made fun of for many different parts of who you are. Throughout your life, you’ve learned tools for survival that may no longer feel like they serve you. We can help you shift those survival skills using Mind to Body Psychotherapy. College and graduate school can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, loneliness, relationship challenges, questions about your identity, or the pressure to keep up academically while managing everything else in your life. For some students, adjusting to life away from home, navigating independence, or recovering from difficult experiences such as trauma or past hardships can make this time especially challenging. I'm Kate Conway, a Mental Health Counselor Fellow (MHC-F) at Modern Talk, working under the clinical supervision of our licensed directors. Working with college students and young adults is at the heart of what I do — I have a deep understanding of the unique pressures this stage of life brings, and I know how much courage it takes to ask for support when you're in the middle of it. Whether you're looking for support during a difficult period, trying to better understand yourself, or hoping to build healthier coping skills and relationships, I'm here. I offer a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, gain insight, and develop the tools to navigate this chapter with greater confidence and resilience.
Starting with the "here and now," I tailor treatment to you, whether you are looking to change problematic behaviors, get along better with others, make a difficult decision, or develop greater confidence and peace of mind. I offer an integrated approach of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT skills to facilitate change and growth. In addition to my experience addressing general life issues, I am very experienced in helping people specifically with addressing problem drinking and substance use.

I take a holistic approach to healing, focusing on Psychotherapy, In my 15 years of experience working with people diagnosed with mental illnesses, and severe traumas, I observed that treatments often ignored holistic methods to healing. Through listening, caring, and working together with my clients, I recognized that some emotional and psychological issues are often managed by initiating small life changes and making healthier choices. My goal and passion is to assist and empower my clients to identify the changes they choose to make to have the life they have desired. I will assist them in achieving their goals while supporting them as they carry out their plans to live a healthier life. Please notes sessions can be face to face or virtual.
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in anxiety, life transitions, and relationship concerns for adolescents and adults. Over nearly four years of clinical work, I've had the privilege of sitting with teens and adults through some of life's more difficult stretches: the anxiety that won't quiet down, the relationship stress that follows you everywhere, the emotional weight that builds when you can't quite figure out why you keep ending up in the same place. If you're someone who thinks deeply about yourself and your life but still finds it hard to break certain patterns, you're not alone. Many of the people I work with are self-aware and motivated; they just need a space where insight can turn into real, lasting change. I offer the evidence-based treatment that helps you explore the deeper patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others. Above all, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more confident as you move through the world. I look forward to being a genuine partner in that process. Therapy works best when it feels honest, collaborative, and equal parts reflective and actionable. When we work together, you can expect a space that is both supportive and candid, somewhere we can get curious about what's bringing you in while also building practical tools to help you move forward. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), schema therapy, and relationally informed approaches, weaving them together in a way that fits who you are rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. My style is warm, direct, and a little reflective. I'll ask questions that help you see yourself more clearly, and also help you figure out what to actually do with what you discover. Whether you're looking to better understand your patterns, strengthen how you cope with stress, or simply feel more like yourself again, I'll tailor the work to where you are and where you want to go. My path to this work has been shaped in equal parts by where I come from personally and where I've been professionally. Early in my career, I worked at a pediatric neuropsychology clinic serving primarily Latinx families in Washington Heights, where I saw up close how systemic barriers can complicate access to care and add invisible weight to the challenges people are already carrying. That experience left a real mark on me, and strengthened my commitment to showing up in a way that is culturally sensitive, genuinely client-centered, and attuned to the broader context of your life. Growing up in the South Bronx gave me something no classroom could: a deep respect for the resilience of underserved communities and an honest understanding of the very real obstacles many individuals and families face. Both experiences continue to inform how I practice and how I show up for you in the therapy room. Outside of session, I'm usually deep in a telenovela, working through my Nintendo Switch 2 games, sweating through a [solidcore] class, or adding more books to an endless to-be-read reading list. I believe a full life outside the therapy room makes for a better therapist inside it.
