Therapists for college students near 97203
What do you do when what everyone calls "the best years of your life' just aren't?? The transition from home to college is an exciting one, but one that brings with it many new experiences...leaving home (sometimes for the first time), living more independently, meeting a whole world of new people, and learning more about yourself...your strengths and weaknesses. As a college student you often face adversities such as a lack of stability, increased social and pressures, and a strong push towards academic hyper-achievement. Together with familial and social (media) pressure college students often experience changes in sleep, eating and energy patterns, irritability, a loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed, and substance abuse. Knowing when you need support, and taking the initiative to actually get that help is an important first step in figuring things out. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, homesickness, finding your people or just trying to figure yourself out I hope that I can help.

I am here to remind you that you are already whole. My intention is to walk with you on your healing path and co-create a sacred space where we can tend to your body, mind, and spirit. My approach is heart-centered, non-pathologizing, and grounded in a humanistic lens. I value what evidence-based practices offer us, and hold reverence for the wisdom traditions, somatic knowing, and transpersonal experiences that live outside those frameworks. I also recognize that Western psychology is rooted in colonialism, and I am committed to an approach that honors lineages of healing that the dominant system has excluded. I weave in mindfulness, somatics, parts work, expressive arts, and nature therapy. I am certified in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR, and have extensive experience supporting those healing from religious and spiritual trauma. I especially enjoy working with the queer community and Highly Sensitive People (HSP), both of which are part of the path I walk. As a solo practice, I do not have a team to provide 24/7 crisis support. Because of this, my practice is a good fit for those who feel steady enough to manage their safety between our weekly sessions. I offer in-person sessions in South Eugene Mon/Tue/Wed and online sessions Thursdays. When you reach out, please let me know your insurance(s) and schedule preferences.
Do you need guidance navigating difficult emotions, past trauma, family and life transitions. Are you someone who struggles with depression or anxiety, connection to others, or could use a neutral perspective and someone to talk to? Everyone wants to feel safe and supported while going through challenges. I work with teens and young adults to explore different ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving to increase self-awareness and improve functioning. My therapeutic approach involves acceptance and non-judgment. I use interventions that foster natural strengths, and work in collaboration with clients to build skills aligned with their specific needs, capabilities, and goals. Clients gain valuable tools rooted in evidenced based practice, that aim to explore root causes of distress and develop resiliency. Confronting personal difficulties is not easy and I approach counseling with compassion, empathy, confidentiality and trust. Together we can create new coping strategies, positive social connections, self-esteem and confidence in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
At Flourish Gracefully, Inc., we offer online therapy for adults navigating the unique pressures of anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, and academic or life transitions. We specialize in holding space for biracial, bicultural, and first-generation adults navigating complex cultural expectations, as well as Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and gifted individuals who experience the world deeply. By integrating evidence-based EMDR therapy with trauma-informed, psychodynamic approaches, we help you process distressing memories, break free from old emotional patterns, and build lasting resilience. Together, we will create a safe, collaborative environment to help you heal and step into a life of peace and wholeness.
My passion is to assist people who desire to get unstuck, be more confident, feel more relaxed, connect with others, feel less irritable, communicate better, understand their dreams and are looking for meaning and purpose in their lives. We might be a good fit if you are someone who has difficulty with boundaries and assertiveness or think of yourself as a "people pleaser." Another good fit would be if you feel that you are lacking direction in your life or feel like "something is missing" but aren't sure what it is or how to find it.
Are you having difficulty processing anxiety? Do you ever feel like stranger in your own body? Perhaps you've tried traditional talk therapy and haven't found the relief that you need. This is the case for many of my clients. Through a trauma neuroscience approach to healing, we will go beyond traditional talk therapy to discover and heal the root sources of your symptoms. You will learn the tools for emotional regulation and resilience, which will help you reclaim control over your mind, body, and emotions once again. I utilize a variety of techniques focusing on mind-body connection including Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, HeartMath, and Breathework to help individuals find relief at neurophysiological level. With expertise in Attachment, I specialize in anxiety, panic, and complex and developmental trauma. If you are feeling trapped by symptoms of trauma or anxiety, you are not alone. If you are someone who has tried traditional talk therapy and it hasn't provided the relief you need, reach out today to schedule a free consultation and learn more about my approach utilizing Evidence Based Practices and Trauma Neurosciences.
I provide empathetic, personalized support to college students who are working to adjust to a college environment, managing new and difficult social situations, or working on themselves and discovering their identity now that they are away from home. My approach tends to be more casual and less clinical. I'm excited to help students explore any new and challenging areas they are facing in college.
My work with clients is collaborative, compassionate and focused on strengths. My training as a couples and family therapist and background in mathematics provides a unique perspective from which to explore your context: how your experiences, relationships, identities and larger systemic issues contribute to the challenges you're experiencing. I will aim to create a strong and trustworthy relationship with you, work with you to define and achieve goals, and offer assessments when appropriate. We will focus on amplifying your strengths and resources and supporting you to create change in a manner that is most empowering to you. Please note: I am accepting new clients for my waitlist.

Currently accepting members for the Body Acceptance Group for Woman on Zoom. Our goal in group is to help you learn to connect with your body in a shame-free, loving, and enthusiastic way. I hope to help you achieve this through: *Critically evaluating the ways our negative view of bodies has been influenced by our upbringing, peers, and society *Deconstructing internalized body shame *Removing body-shame barriers that stop us from doing activities that bring us joy *Exploring what healthy looks like at every size *Exploring how we can see our bodies as more than objects *Becoming more mindful *Learning to have compassion for ourselves and others. ------- My goal is to help make counseling feel comfortable, safe, and at your pace. We will work collaboratively to help you find your strength, feel empowered and confident, and rediscover meaning and purpose in your life. Talking through past or present tough experiences or hurts can be difficult. It’s tempting to try and ignore them or minimize how they are impacting you. Therapy can be a safe space to help you take the time needed to address your feelings in a way that will help you truly heal from the hurt, and discover how to engage with yourself in a healthy way that enables you to move forward. Therapy with me is a nonjudgmental and collaborative space. I believe that the answers you are looking for are likely already within you, but therapy can help illuminate what those solutions could be. I work in session to address emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and interpersonal relationships, and use mindfulness and other tools that many people have found help them cope with challenging life circumstances. I also lead a group called Body Acceptance for Women, where you'll learn to connect with your body in a shame-free, loving, and enthusiastic way. I recognize that scheduling therapy for the first time can sometimes feel like an intimidating process. My hope is that you will trust that counseling can have a powerful and positive impact on your life. If you are bothered with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, body image issues, feeling unworthy, struggling with relationships, or any other challenge in life, let’s talk about it.
Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). I help clients recover from anxiety and depression and improve social relationships. I offer an insight-oriented approach. I also do EMDR and parts work. These modalities are helpful for trauma recovery and changing unhappy patterns. My goals are for clients to feel supported and understood. I recognize that each person has their own, internal wisdom. I like to understand and honor this wisdom as I work with you to build better mental health.
I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a range of challenges that include relationship distress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, financial conflict, and/or coping with the disease of addiction in a significant relationship or family system. We all come from diverse backgrounds and experiences that impact how we see and move through the world. I am interested in understanding the context of your life in our work together. Life offers challenges to all of us. These challenges can be in relationships, life transitions, or in circumstances that feel thrust upon us. I am confident you have within you what it takes to face and move through hard times in your life. I will help you develop new skills to be successful in accepting all of what life has to offer.
My approach is guided by empathy, understanding and attention to details of events and your reactions, including experiences in sessions. I am a careful and deep listener, interested in your feelings, goals and what impacts self doubt. Together we can discover what underlies conflict and learn about the context and meaning of choices that impede progress. My work is deep, analytic, relationally oriented. Psychotherapy can help you through the struggles and complexities of family, work and relationship distress. In addition, threats of climate, national and international upheaval persist. You will find me warm, insightful and focused on helping you to explore patterns and ways of being that interfere with your needs and aspirations
