Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. You’re tired of thinking about food all the time. Maybe you feel out of control around eating — especially at night — or stuck in a cycle of dieting, shame, and binging. You might even feel like you should know better, but nothing seems to stick. It’s exhausting, lonely, and can leave you hating your body and doubting yourself. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone — and you're not broken. Food may have helped you cope, but now it’s causing more pain than relief. I help people heal their relationship with food so they can stop the cycle and reconnect with themselves. Our work will be collaborative and compassionate. We'll explore the emotions and patterns that drive eating behaviors and practice tools like mindfulness, boundary setting, and emotional regulation. My approach is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and tailored to your unique needs. You deserve peace with food and your body — and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Are you Autistic and/or ADHD and struggling in a world not designed for your neurotype? Or do you suspect that you may be Autistic and/or ADHD and want to work with a down-to-earth neurodivergent psychologist to find out? Are you looking for a therapist who gets the struggle? I offer collaborative and neurodiversity-affirming assessment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to the needs of Autistic and ADHD clients. Assessment may help you better understand yourself or your child. I offer neurodiversity-affirming Autism and ADHD assessments for all ages, and have a special interest in clients whose autism and/or ADHD are masked by other factors such as high cognitive and/or verbal ability, gender, race, age, or other psychiatric diagnoses. DBT may help you understand and manage your thoughts, feelings, and behavior to align with your goals. I offer DBT (group-only or comprehensive DBT) tailored to the needs of Autistic clients, and am currently co-authoring a manual for Guilford Press on tailoring DBT for the needs of Autistic clients.
From the second we hit adolescence, we are in a near state of constant transition. That doesn't stop when we hit what society considers to be "adulthood." When we hit college, the world expects us to magically become fully functioning adults. But we are dealing with one of the biggest transitions yet, and mostly on our own. We might be experiencing things such as transitioning from living at home, to living on our own. Relying on family for financial support to having to support ourselves. Having a secure and safe social circle to having to start again finding our "people." Balancing classes, work, social obligations, and self-care. Deciding if we want to carry forward the identity we held onto in adolescence into adulthood, or reinvent ourselves. Living in the moment and enjoying our experience while constantly planning our futures and making plans for when we REALLY hit adulthood. And doing all of this completely untethered from the safety and security we once knew. College is a lot. Period. It's normal to struggle through some of this, and to need some extra support in managing it all. I speak from experience. I faced a lot of challenges in college that tested my mental health. A close family member passed away two months into my freshman year, and navigating my grief amidst my difficult college classes challenged my focus and caused my grades to slip. I had what I lovingly call a "mental breakdown" returning from spring break my sophmore year of college, when I literally couldn't stop crying for a week straight for no apparent reason. Did I reach out for professional support, you may wonder? You bet I did! I met with a counselor at my college who helped me understand that I was feeling very isolated and helped me figure out some steps I could take to feel less alone. In the end, I found my "people," who are still my best friends nearly 20 years later, and had an amazing college experience. I am so glad I reached out for support, and persevered through that challenge. I specialize in supporting anxiety, depression, difficult transitions, navigating family and social conflict, and simply finding your place in this world. Sometimes we know we need therapy, but we're not really sure what for, and I am happy to lend an ear to what you are experiencing, and help you find your way, regardless of any labels. It takes strength to reach out for help, especially during a period of life you are expected to be grown up and independent. But there is no point in life during which you should ever feel ashamed to seek help. College can be an amazing and formative time, and managing your emotional and mental health can help you access all of the beautiful experiences available to you. Please don't hesitate to reach out for any reason at all. I'm looking forward to working with you!
