Therapists for college students near 20052
Bilingual therapist who works with COLLEGE STUDENTS, GRADUATE STUDENTS & ADULTS. I approach my work with a collaborative spirit knowing that you are the expert on your life. The goal of therapy is to approach a problem together so that you feel more capable and energized to handle the challenge that life has sent your way. Together we will acknowledge and celebrate the ways you are already coping with the stressful situation that brought you into therapy and develop strategies and life habits to manage difficult situations. I have practiced in a range of settings, with clients of diverse ages and backgrounds. I help parents decode their child's needs and offer parents strategies to better respond to them. I am also passionate about working with college students, professionals, and parents who are seeking greater work-life balance, belonging, and significance. As a white, straight, cisgendered female clinician, Nancy is a proponent of social justice and works hard to create an environment where her clients can feel understood, supported, and accepted. Welcome. My name is Kate, and I offer psychodynamically oriented, trauma-informed, compassionate, and affirming therapy to folks of all kinds. I work with people across the lifespan, many of whom identify as queer and/or neurodivergent and are trying to make sense of a world that can feel overwhelming. Some are living with long-term stress, trauma, anxiety, or depression, while others are seeking support with life transitions, relationships, or family dynamics. I also offer clinical supervision. Clients often value working with me when they feel ready to explore their inner world more deeply—to better understand the hopes and fears beneath relational and behavioral patterns that increase suffering. I also regularly offer skills-based techniques, drawing from DBT, to help with in-the-moment management of distress and emotional overwhelm. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to a successful experience. My hope is to provide every client with a safe, supportive space to explore, learn more about themselves, feel truly seen, heard and accepted, build new skills, grow, and reconnect with who they really are. I look forward to connecting with you.
Hey there! I'm Aaliyah Nurideen, a licensed clinical social worker in Washington DC, New Jersey and Maryland. As a Black woman, I'm all about creating spaces where we can heal and grow together. Trust me, it's revolutionary stuff! At Ashé Mental Health and Wellness Space, we're not just talking, we're making moves. Our sessions are all about empowering you with the energy and tools to take control of your life and find what works for YOU. We start with a simple question: "What's your intention for yourself in this space?" Then we work together to turn those thoughts and ideas into real, actionable behaviors. It's time to slow down, get present, and show yourself some love and patience. My mission? I'm here to: -Create a judgment-free zone for all your feelings (because life can be messy AF) -Hold your virtual hand when we tackle the tough stuff (about you, others and the world) -Get curious about what's holding you back from living your best life -Clock your strengths and skills (especially when you're struggling to see them) -Help you come up with game plans when life throws you curveballs. All of this is to help you live YOUR version of a peaceful, connected life.
I value collaboration, trust, and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship. Rather than positioning myself as the expert on your life, I help you engage your strengths and inner wisdom in the healing process. I take a holistic approach to wellness, honoring the mind, body, and spirit, while acknowledging the impact of societal and systemic forces on mental health. I create an affirming, intentional, and safe space for you to explore how your identities, values, past experiences, and fears shape your challenges. My practice integrates cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), mindfulness, and mind-body practices, fostering deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rooted in a humanistic approach, I deeply believe in your wholeness and potential and help you reconnect with personal strength and clarity.

Ever feel like you're navigating through a fog when it comes to understanding your emotions, needs, or desires? Imagine a life where you truly connect with yourself and those around you, where past traumas become stepping stones to a brighter future. At Inclusive Therapy and Consulting Services LLC, we don't just offer therapy — we open doors to a transformative experience. Specializing in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, individuals living with HIV, and their allies, our mission is to bring you world-class psychotherapy that's not just compassionate but deeply tailored to your unique journey. Because everyone deserves a space where they're not just heard, but truly understood. I completed my Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, New York, in 2010. During my tenure in New York, I furthered my training with the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, emphasizing care for LGBTQ+ outpatient adults. Over the past twelve years, I've had the honor of working with a myriad of individuals and couples representing all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and diverse relationship configurations, including polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, kink, and BDSM. Before establishing my private practice, I dedicated four years as the Director of Behavioral Health, specializing in mental health care for those living with HIV/AIDS. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, with over a decade of specialized clinical experience. As a queer-identified, trauma-informed, and sex-positive professional, my expertise lies in supporting individuals living with HIV, addressing substance use disorders, and working with a broad spectrum of relationship dynamics. I also offer dedicated services in sex therapy, as well as therapeutic interventions for trauma, anxiety, mood, and adjustment disorders. My therapeutic methodology is eclectic, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relational Therapy, and more. At the heart of my practice is the conviction that everyone has the right to lead an open, secure, and fulfilling life. Establishing wholesome relationships with oneself and with others is instrumental in embracing our most genuine selves.

Sometimes we have moments in our lives were we feel lost in our present and wonder where our confident past self went. We have other moments where we feel pulled in many directions by friends, family, work, and or school. This feeling of being pulled is overwhelming and sometimes brings about guilt. My name is Adenike (Aah-deh-knee-keh). I am a first-generation Nigerian/Haitian, queer, cis woman; my pronouns are she/her. Let’s sit down and talk about life. I will hold a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental space for your unique life experiences, true authentic self, and help guide you through life in a way that feels most comfortable

I work with LGBTQ+ college students who are feeling overwhelmed by emotions or stuck in perfectionism. In therapy, I use a DBT-informed approach to help you build coping tools while also making space for where you are right now. I have experience supporting folks with depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, and I aim to create a space that feels warm, validating, and real.
I believe finding the right therapist is a major part of successful therapy. I love to work with individuals and couples in a solution focused way where I can support them as well as provide feedback and tools to help navigate towards each person's personal goals. I love to engage with people during sessions and to make sure that they feel comfortable being their authentic selves without any reservations or fear of judgement. I have a wide range of experience in a variety of mental health concerns and especially love working with people managing the stressors of any relationships, dating, marriage, anxiety, life changes and life adjustments. I want to make sure that anyone who sees me feels they are benefiting from therapy and working towards a better quality of life.
My purpose is to ultimately help my clients achieve the goals they wish to accomplish. I offer a safe, empathetic and a warm environment. I use interventions that offer not only symptom relief, but also a means to improve emotional connections to the individual and others. I have experience in treating LGBTQIA populations, depression, sexual challenges, anxiety disorders, trauma, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, chronic pain, chronic illness, disabilities, and disease. As a dedicated psychotherapist, certified substance abuse counselor, and certified sex and couple’s therapist, I use holistic approaches where I treat the whole person and not just the symptoms. Clients who are in non-monogamous, swingers, polyamorous, and/or kink relationships are welcomed.
I believe that the overall health of a person depends on their physical, emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing- an integrated mind & body perspective. My approach focuses on supporting you to use constructive and healthy ways to better manage challenges life sometimes presents. Through our work together, we will identify your internal strengths and build both skills and tools that will help improve your sense of self and your relationships, as well as increase your overall quality of life. I am aware of the whole person as I engage in the therapeutic process of change, healing, and growth.
I offer traditional psychotherapy sessions, but I also work on stress management, mindfulness, emotional expression, relationship issues, depression, recovery and other issues.
It is my belief and practice that we are more than our limited thinking minds. If you have tried other traditional therapies and find them lacking, you may find my Transpersonal , Jungian, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral approach to be of benefit. The transpersonal is defined as "experiences in which the sense of identity, or self, extends beyond the individual or personal to encompass greater meaning. This can include exploring non ordinary states of consciousness. Licensed in MD, VA, DC, FL, DE, VT and WV. I have expertise in the integration of Eastern and Western psychotherapies and philosophies with modern psychodynamic principles, Non-Dual approaches, and contemplative and meditative practices. This approach encompasses the mind, body, & spirit. It is my experience that a persons deeper beliefs (what I call Meta-principles) determine life experiences. My integrative practice includes life coaching, altered states work, psychotherapy, meditation instruction, hypnotherapy, neurofeedback training, and mindfulness based treatment. TELE-THERAPY is available through my HIPAA compliant video therapy room. . View my website for further information. www.INSITEintegrative.com
