I am a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that treats adults and adolescents. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky and received my graduate degree from Northern Kentucky University. I began my career as a registered nurse working at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. I treat patients with a variety of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. I believe in the importance of building a long lasting relationship with my patients by providing an individualized approach to treatment. I always encourage my patients to be an active participant in their treatment and I am committed to working together with them to reach their unique goals. I understand that seeking treatment for mental health disorders is difficult but encourages those in need to do so, as everyone deserves to be happy and healthy. I am focused on providing evidence based treatment through the use of medication and nonpharmacologic treatments. I take the time to understand each patient’s unique situation and offer my support through their mental health journey. While not working, I enjoy being active outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and pup! Many of us lead busy lives with little space to breathe, think, and make choices with clarity. We hold ourselves to unsustainable standards in our careers, relationships and as individuals. We may run from day to day with an anxious stream of thoughts, or float numbly with disconnection and over-scheduling as a way to avoid pain. Sometimes our expectations, goals and circumstances come at the expense of clarity and fulfillment. I work with individuals & couples to reconnect while understanding how the past impacts present living. We collaborate to build a foundation of skills that promote healing as individuals and within relationships. My approach is grounded in human capacity for growth using a humanistic and strength based approach. I incorporate these modalities for processing trauma, anxiety, depression, and performance blocks. Therapy should be a collaborative process that provides a safe space to rediscover your strengths, while understanding and creating meaning from experiences, relationships and culture. Integrating our past and present empowers us to become creators of our lives rather than observers. Let’s work together to discover your path towards healing with sustainable growth and inner happiness.

I work best with students who often feel like they're carrying more than they let on. Maybe you're the one everyone depends on, you're constantly overthinking, or you're trying to balance school, work, relationships, and everything else while feeling overwhelmed inside. You might be navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the impact of past experiences. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to have it all figured out before starting therapy. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, make sense of what's been weighing on you, and begin moving toward a life that feels more grounded, fulfilling, and authentically yours.

Reaching out for help is often the hardest part and each client is different in their own ways. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative process in which the client takes the driver's seat, as they know their life better than anyone else. Our own minds can sometimes be our worst enemies and add daily life stressors into the mix..life isn't always simple and easy. I want to help clients sort through the messiness of life and help them get back on track to their goals and dreams while encouraging positive self-growth, self-image, and self-esteem. I like to take a person-centered, humanistic approach to help clients reach their goals and fullest potential. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults as well. I work with many different presenting concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, everyday stressors, trauma, and domestic/sexual violence. I earned my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. I offer day and evening hours. I like to offer a welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe space that changes with each client to ensure the client's needs are being met.

I’m a licensed psychologist with specialty training in exposure therapy for OCD and anxiety disorders, evidence-based trauma treatments, and transgender and queer healthcare. My passion is engaging in short-term, collaborative change processes with people—helping them make their lives bigger and more fulfilling, while providing the skills to better weather the stresses of life. It’s a hard world to live in for many of us, and I believe one of the best things we can do is get connected to the people and things that make our lives matter, even when it’s hard. In my experience, the thing that usually makes us the most miserable is when we avoid our internal experiences and move away from the things we actually want and value. Therapy can build your resilience, help you get past the barriers to living the life you want, and give you tools to manage or overcome the symptoms that get in your way. My style of practice is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a treatment modality which can improve the symptoms of many problems in 12-16 sessions and emphasizes the practice of therapy skills in between sessions to maximize gains. My passion in CBT is exposure therapy: approaching the risks we are avoiding and learning, by living, what we are capable of. I have completed exposure therapy training at the Trauma and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Central Michigan University as well as a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for OCD and Anxiety Disorders in St Louis. Another passion of mine is improving access to, and quality of, healthcare for LGBTQ+ people. I helped develop a specialty queer & transgender mental health program at St Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute and served as the clinical director of that program prior to beginning my work at CBT Solutions. In addition to CBT, in therapy I also incorporate strategies from Acceptance Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindful Self-Compassion. In couples work, I use the Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy. The integration of these strategies can address both short-term change and longer-term self-exploration work. I work with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, trauma and PTSD, people coping with sexual assault, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobia, perfectionism, and unhelpful personality patterns. I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, and I welcome ethical nonmonogamy, nontraditional family structures, and kink lifestyles in my practice. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples / relationship partners. I look forward to getting to know you better! Schedule a free 20-minute consult so we can discuss what you want out of therapy and whether I am a good fit for helping you move towards your goals.

Therapy is a unique process, one that aims to guide you through challenges and roadblocks, helping you move towards a healthier and more meaningful life. My goal is to create a space where growth is safe and cultivated. Using an evidence-based approach, I work to help you gain awareness of your emotional experience, working to understand the way you experience and interact with the world. I help you explore parts of yourself you may not be completely comfortable with, learning to tolerate the discomfort that surfaces during this process. I challenge clients to try something different, encouraging a more intentional approach. Change can be hard and scary; it takes courage and willingness to say you need help. I see individuals with a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, and identity development. I also maintain a strong commitment to cultural humility. Life can throw out some pretty tough things, and while we don't always have a choice in what comes our way, we do have a choice in how we respond. Let's work together to find out how you want to respond to the challenges in your life.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

I've spent years helping kids and families navigate life's challenges, and I love supporting college and graduate students because I know growing up doesn't stop after high school. School brings new pressures, relationships, and responsibilities. It's normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes. I strive to create a space where you can be yourself, talk openly about what's on your mind, and build the confidence and skills to handle whatever comes next. No one has it all figured out. We can work through it together.
