Therapists for college students near Boston College
I work with college students impacted by trauma and those who struggle with attention deficit and social difficulties in a long-term therapeutic relationship. I am particularly passionate about working with those on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I have expertise in relational trauma, substance abuse, and social difficulties in the context of major life transitions. I am also practiced in working through executive dysfunction and autism spectrum disorders. I also conduct neuropsychological and psychological assessment and testing. If you feel that you are struggling with attention, social deficits, memory, planning, or other areas of executive functioning, neuropsychological testing might help.

I am a licensed social worker and a licensed marriage and family therapist with specialty in depression/anxiety, ADD/ADHD, grief and loss, trauma, substance abuse/dependence and relationship issues. I believe therapy offers the opportunity to become who you really are. People are often unaware of all of the factors that are keeping them stuck, creating dissatisfaction, or causing distressing symptoms. By developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships through therapy, it becomes possible to experience your life more authentically, feel better in your relationships, and move toward what is enriching or important to you. I provide a reliable and empathic setting where we can carefully understand the difficulties you are experiencing ā leading to relief, personal growth and lasting change. I provide psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Of note, I have a sliding scale for psychoanalysis patients. As a board-certified psychiatrist I can also prescribe, when indicated, psychiatric medications ā either in combination with or separate from therapy. When medications are considered, I will work collaboratively with you to make shared treatment decisions while carefully weighing the risks, benefits and alternatives to medication. I have extensive experience helping patients with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, identity questions and more. I also have a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals. In addition to my practice, Iām also a Teaching Associate at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. I completed my Adult Psychiatry Residency training at Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School. I welcome you to email me or call with questions or to schedule a free consultation.
Hi! Iām Dr. Rey Junco. If youāre a college student feeling the weight of high expectations, academic burnout, or the lingering sting of past experiences, I want you to know that you donāt have to carry it all alone. As someone who spent most of my life in academiaāholding faculty positions at places like Harvard and Oxford and working in college counseling centers for 13 yearsāI truly "get" the unique pressure of being a high achiever. I know what itās like to look successful on the outside while struggling with self-doubt, anxiety, or the feeling that you arenāt making "real" progress. My approach is built for students who are tired of just talking about their problems and want to actually feel better. I specialize in evidence-based, results-oriented techniques like EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). These arenāt your typical "sit and talk for years" methods; they are designed to help you process trauma and anxiety more deeply and efficiently so you can regain your confidence and focus on your future. I also have a deep background in researching how technology and social media impact our mental health. Whether youāre struggling with "tech fatigue," insomnia (Iām certified in CBT-I), or the complexities of modern relationships, I provide a non-judgmental, warm space tailored to your specific goals. As a survivor of childhood trauma myself, Iām not just a doctor with a degree; Iām someone who understands the frustration of trying to get better and not knowing where to start. If youāre ready to break the cycle of feeling stuck and want to rediscover your sense of joy and self, Iām here to help. Letās work together to get you back to living the life you deserve.

I have experience working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, major life transitions, and burnout among other areas. I offer a calm, warm, and non-judgmental presence to those I work with. I tend to think creatively and enjoy deepening a sense of understanding by using art therapy or expressive therapies when appropriate. I enjoy helping others face their fears, learn new skills to tackle negative thoughts, and better understand how to process their emotions. I also have experience working with those navigating spiritual issues within the Christian faith. Iām Lisa M Burke, LICSW, a clinician based in Concord, Massachusetts. I provide parent guidance and work with children, adolescents and young adults. I specialize in treating patients with Depression, Anxiety, Emotional Dysregulation, Life Transitions, Behavioral Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and mild Intellectual Disabilities. In 2016, I left my job as a Clinical Program Director, at McLean Hospital to bring my clinical knowledge and training to the suburbs. I care about each of my patients and spend time evaluating their needs and goals, to create a treatment plan that is tailored to their specific needs. I believe in using different therapeutic methods while treating my patients, as I feel not everyone benefits from being treated by one method. This multidimensional approach allows me to be flexible, creative, and lets me target a patientās specific need, which I feel leads to better treatment and better outcomes. ā I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Interventions from Boston University and I am trained in DBT from Behavioral Tech, SPACE: Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I also have an interest in the therapeutic impact of humor and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT). I am trained in improvisational comedy and often incorporate humor into my sessions. My dog Kaia and I are a certified animal assisted therapy team. Kaia enjoys coming to sessions with those who request her presence. My patients well-being is my number one priority, and I go above and beyond to help each patient.
