College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Haverhill, MA

Danielle Carroll, LMHC, is a psychotherapist currently providing services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Danielle utilizes a client-centered, strengths-based approach that allows her clients to feel empowered to build the skills they need to improve their quality of life. She provides a trauma-informed, nurturing, nonjudgmental environment and incorporates humor and therapeutic play into her practice, which allows her to develop relationships with clients who have historically struggled to build healthy and safe attachments to providers and caregivers. Danielle often accesses aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts Therapy in her practice in order to meet the individualized needs of her clients. Trauma-informed care is the cornerstone of Danielle's treatment approach, as this safety net provides a necessary container to the emotional needs of her clients. Danielle graduated with a Master of Arts from Lesley University in 2018 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Expressive Arts Therapy, and is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. Danielle has experience working with youth in a wide variety of settings, including residential treatment programs, juvenile detention centers, schools, outpatient clinics, and in-home. She is comfortable addressing a range of treatment issues and specializes in trauma, attachment, LGBTQ+, mood disorders, anxiety, and impulse control/conduct disorders.

Are you self-aware, but still stuck in the same painful patterns? Feeling things intensely and struggling with emotional balance? Can't get your mind to calm down or your thoughts to stop racing? Healing, growth, and inner calm are absolutely possible. With 15 years experience working in social services, first as a health educator and then as a licensed therapist, there's not much I haven't seen or heard before. I use science-backed methods to identify what's blocking progress, and create personalized approaches that address root causes, not just the symptoms. My style is conversational & collaborative. I believe each person is more than a diagnosis & I work with you to identify the unique thought/emotion patterns and nervous system reactions you couldn't spot on your own, and create a personalized treatment approach which ensures therapy actually works.

Female-first psychiatric care. If you’re navigating a new season of life—trying to conceive, pregnancy, or perimenopause—or looking for support with treatment of a specific condition such as PMS or PMDD, PCOS, ADHD, depression, or anxiety, I want to offer you the expertise, compassion, and genuine care you deserve. I am a Harvard-trained and board-certified psychiatrist specializing in women's mental health and reproductive psychiatry. I take a conservative approach to medication, taking the time to listen to you and help you make empowered decisions about your mental health. I provide medication management and psychotherapy through a female-first frame: putting you, your needs, and your wellness at the forefront of our work together. I view my work as an opportunity to help women feel seen and supported through the most transformative stages of their lives. My patients’ unique needs are at the forefront of my practice: hearing them when others have not listened, acknowledging their challenges when others have downplayed them, and empowering them to take control of their health, wellness, future, and family.
