As we grow and develop life throws at us a series of experiences and challenges. We learn to navigate our environment and relationships through these experiences. As a therapist I have the utmost respect for the ways in which people have approached their lives. It is not my goal to tell someone how to live. My role is to provide a relationship and a dedicated time to think openly about your experience. Sometimes we lose sight of the meaning and spend time trying to convince ourselves of something that may no longer fit. Through empathy and playfulness, I hope to create a space in which people feel safe to explore new ways of being and thinking. I am interested in both what you say and how you say it: the lyrics and the music. We will work together to find new ways of making meaning out of what life offers. In our first meeting I will be very curious to learn about your life and the challenges you are experiencing. We will discuss how you approach your life and identify ways in which you may struggle and succeed in facing difficulties. I will share feedback with you towards the end of the session and spend time planning future steps. I have worked in college and university mental health centers for over 10 years and look forward to continuing my work with students in my private practice.

I provide social psychologically informed therapy that looks concentratedly at each client's various emotions in context, how and why emotions arise in relationships and what they have to tell us. I try to help clients persist at these times to discover unrealized strengths, better connections. I work with a sense of humor, realism and practicality. Welcome, and thanks for looking! I'm excited to begin your counseling journey with you. My role as your therapist will be to not only help you feel safe and supported, but also gently challenge you when appropriate. I am especially eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship troubles, body image, LGBTQ+ related themes, and difficulties related to life transitions. My primary approach to counseling is very relational. I believe that trusting your therapist is the pinnacle of what makes therapy work. One of the best parts of my job is hearing someone say "I couldn't wait to talk to you about this!" I want our work to feel collaborative and tailored to your individual needs as much as possible. Seeking therapy can be very intimidating, and you're taking a brave step by being here. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable, validated, and supported as possible when we work together. I'm looking forward to connecting!

Hello! My focus is on helping those who are experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and PTSD because you deserve to experience joy, connection, ease, peace, and love in your life. Together, you can gain more clarity on how to work with difficult emotions, make peace with your past, and start to feel more confident in your ability to tackle current challenges and work towards goals for your future. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help reduce negative symptoms and achieve positive shifts, often more deeply and quickly than traditional talk therapy. I hope to be of service to you and look forward to speaking with you!

There are a lot of really good reasons to start therapy. For some this may be be uncovering the authentic self, finding a felt sense of safety, and the confidence to build meaningful and lasting relationships. In my fifteen years of practice I have developed an approach that is intuitive and individualized, blending emotional insight, mind body awareness, and an understanding of your lived experience.
