Welcome to Comfort Counseling Café Inc., I am Raheem Forsythe (LCSW, LCASA) owner and licensed therapist. My therapeutic approach involves recognizing internal strengths and resourcefulness within each individual. My goal is to provide a comfortable environment to empower you and to guide you to improve your resiliency. Comfort Counseling Café Inc. will utilize an evidence-based theoretical framework to address dual diagnosis behavioral management, anger management, social withdrawals, anxiety, and life adjustments. I work with Ages 15-80 and specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, IDD, mens issues, trauma and relational issues. During the first session, we will review paperwork, discuss goals, strengths and needs, and get to know each other. Currently, I am only offering virtual sessions. In the near future, I will also offer in-person sessions. I look forward to working with you.
Let me put it simply: being a college student is hard. There are more expectations than ever placed on young adults today and it's a time of tremendous change, transition, and instability. Emotions are a normal part of being human, but sometimes those emotions seem so overwhelming that you might start to feel out of control and alone. It can feel as though no one understands you and no one is really on your side. It might even feel as though your friendships or other relationships are more stressful than they are helpful. That's where I come in. My goal is to provide a safe, stable space and support for you to navigate all of the difficult relationships, changes, and challenges you're experiencing during this time in life. You are not alone!

Hi, I’m Rithy (pronounced as ‘Rit-Tea’). As an openly proud gay man and a first- generation Asian American (Cambodian & Hmong), I deeply recognize how mental health is woven into our identity, culture, and sense of belonging. My own journey has shown me how identity can sometimes act as a barrier to accessing therapy, whether due to stigma, cultural expectations, or a lack of representation in the field. My passion for mental wellness is rooted in the belief that people are the experts in themselves, and therapy should honor their wisdom, strengths, and lived experiences. With over six years of experience in health and human services, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Autistic and otherwise neurodivergent individuals, and people from diverse socioeconomic, educational, and intersectional identities. I help clients navigate stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Above all, I’m committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and affirming space where people can show up fully as themselves. My intention is to meet you where you are in your mental wellness journey and build on your strengths. Together, we will create meaningful change at a pace and capacity that feels right for you. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued. With that in mind, I take a holistic, person-centered approach, promoting an affirming and supportive atmosphere-especially for those exploring LGBTOIA+ identity, relationships, anxiety, and life transitions. I tailor therapy sessions to your unique needs, using modalities like Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. I also use the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict with compassion. My approach is affirming and tailored to honor the unique dynamics and identities within each relationship
I received my MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2009 and have since worked mostly in community mental health. Working mostly with women on body image, self-esteem, and finding your authentic self in a sea of people is my passion. I'm excited to move more fully into working with women in transitional spaces of life looking for support and validation about their desires and next steps. Showing up to therapy takes a lot of courage and trust. I want to help you feel as comfortable as possible telling your story to a total stranger; I usually do this with humor and silliness. Your story is important so our first session is also about me getting to know you, what brought you to therapy (the straw that broke the camels back), and what parts of your history might be linked to what brought you in today. My approach is humanistic, relational and trauma-informed. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is the foundation for growth. Within that safe and compassionate container, I use somatic practices, expressive arts, play, movement and narrative techniques to help people access deeper truths. Spiritual and esoteric elements can also be woven in. *Please book an intro session through my website. All billing goes through my Headway website as well. Thank you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona, North Carolina, and South Carolina (LMFT 10386 Arizona, LMFT 20460 North Carolina, LMFT 8265 South Carolina, LMFT 155822 California). I specialize in working with individuals, young adults, and couples/families. I love helping clients feel unstuck and helping them get back in touch with their authentic selves so that they can know their worth. I believe that we are all capable of healing and that we have the ability to heal ourselves with the right resources and supports. I used intuitive approaches when working with clients and our work is tailored to fit your needs. I have advanced training in Attachment Theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which allows me to understand how clients’ attachment histories have led to insecurities, feeling stuck, low self-esteem, trauma responses, interpersonal conflict, disconnection in relationships and negative narratives. This model allows individuals and families to heal past hurts and get unstuck from repetitive negative patterns. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is an empirically validated model for trauma therapy, and Brainspotting (BSP) Therapy. These models focus on resolving ongoing trauma symptoms by helping the brain and body process information that is uncomfortable or disturbing so that the information is less painful.
