You may find yourself feeling soft spoken, timid, and meek- but secretly waiting to speak- you feel like you are tirelessly trying to keep pace in a world that does not align with your rhythm. If feelings of anxiety are consuming or camouflaging themselves as reoccurring & normal, I am an expert in supporting you in breaking out of your shell, and dismantling old narratives about anxiety, and ADHD. I support clients in exploring their pasts to inform their future, and take control of their narrative. I believe building a healthy connection with yourself is the springboard to living a more fulfilling life and can enhance your ability to form deeper relationships, and show up for yourselves and others in a more grounded way. I do not practice with a one-size fits all approach, and empower clients to take the lead in their experience. I service NY & CT residents. For more information come visit me at www.guidedbyintuitionpsychotherapy.com

Psychologist
Rochester, NY

I'm a clinical psychologist and a trained psychoanalyst. I believe that what promotes growth and mental health is the process of putting real but hard to see aspects of your experience into words. This decreases their power and brings them more to heel for you. This is different from challenging thoughts or skill building. You as the patient should have clear evidence in therapy that you're coming to understand yourself better and more fully. Old, stuck ways of thinking should slowly give way to the ability to think more effectively about what is and what can be. Your sense of 'you' should grow wider and more secure, and your ability live and act with purpose of your choosing should slowly build.

I specialize in working with college-aged students. I understand the unique pressures you face, from academic stress and relationships to social anxieties and figuring out your future path. I especially understand how confusing things can be when navigating independence for the first time, as well as, the onset of a mental health disorder. Therapy with me is a collaborative journey. I offer a warm, relational approach, creating a safe space where you can be heard and supported. Think of me as your partner in accountability – a listening ear when you need to vent, and a gentle nudge when you're ready to push yourself further. The goal is empowerment. I'll help you develop the skills and confidence to tackle challenges on your own, building the strength to become your best self.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Massapequa, NY

Sometimes life's challenges require additional tools. I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master's Degree from Molloy University. I have over a decade of experience in this field and over two decades as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health. As a teammate in your wellness journey, I work closely with your counselor and health care providers to optimize mental and physical health outcomes. I see you as a whole person and incorporate your whole social, physical, and emotional well-being into our plan to guide you to wellness. Medication and psychotherapeutic modalities are utilized as needed to help you achieve your goals. Patients should be ages 18+, in the active care of a Primary Care Provider, and willing to utilize the patient portal. Unfortunately, I do not participate with Medicare or Medicaid even if it is managed by one of the plans listed at this time.

🌟 Embodied Hope For Your Journey to Healing and Growth 🌟 Dealing with trauma can be really tough, whether it's from a specific event or something that's been with you for a long time. It can affect so many parts of your life, from your mental health to your relationships to your sleep. Doing it all while keeping up with classes? That's exhausting. It helps to have someone who knows trauma work and can support you while you gauge how to pace your healing process. I provide therapy for many different types of trauma: emotional neglect, abuse, combat, complex PTSD, intimate partner violence, sexual assault/harassment, bullying, accidents, medical illness, pregnancy/birth, and toxic relationships. I'm experienced in gold standard therapies for trauma, nightmares, insomnia, anxiety, and OCD. It's important to me to help people to understand and work with - not in spite of - their nervous system. I've been through a lot of different experiences in my career, working in hospital and outpatient settings. Real progress comes from having a place where our nervous system can gradually rebuild a sense of safety, grow in flexibility, and practice new learning. My goal is to make therapy that kind of a place. I believe in using therapy strategies that are proven to be effective, but that doesn't mean sessions have to be rigid or boring. Depending on the client, I'll pull in painting, novels and movies, music, Minecraft, sports, and comedians. I'm also always learning and growing as a therapist to make sure you're getting the best care possible. Although therapy progress isn't always a straight line, learning new skills and ways of thinking almost always has ups and downs. That's completely normal. It's totally understandable if you wish you could feel better right away. I'll do my best to create a fluid plan, tailored just for you, to help you head in that direction. You don't have to be alone. Someone I value once told me that sometimes we carry hope for others until they're ready to pick it back up themselves. Let me know if you'd like to talk about what that might look like for you to be ready to carry your own hope again.

I specialize in working with young adults, and adults. The patients I see often come to me with issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm trauma and coping with life. I utilize a mixed array of techniques for adolescents and adult clients. Some techniques I use are Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Therapy, and Person Centered. I believe it is important to find a good match when finding a therapist. I work to create an environment where the individual feels comfortable, as therapy can be vulnerable at times. As a therapist I believe we are a team.

My philosophy in working with others is to work within a respectful and collaborative relationship, with a here-and-now orientation, that acknowledges your strengths and competencies. My belief is that you know yourself better than anyone and it is you who determines your therapy goals. I recognize that change is a process and occurs on a continuum or in stages. Where you are on this continuum will help guide our work supporting a very individualized treatment experience. I approach therapy with a sense of shared expertise - client and therapist each co-creating successful experience and outcome. In other words - you are not alone! I work within an integrated model of care which is strongly influenced and rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), positive psychology, harm reduction, mindfulness meditation, self-compassion and acceptance-based approaches all of which are now considered mainstream approaches to psychotherapy. I am also greatly influenced by the evidence-based teachings of Lifestyle Medicine as they impact emotional well-being. I specialize in the treatment of relationship issues including infidelity; depression, anxiety and its spectrum disorders; grief and loss issues, including pet loss; lifestyle and its impact on health and wellness (nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep and social support), sexuality concerns (including but not limited to those impacting individuals who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual, gay dads and coming out issues), as well as men dealing with compulsive sexual behavior, erectile dysfunction (ED), Internet pornography; and those living with chronic illness, HIV/AIDS related concerns, alcohol and substance use.
